DD16's room
before (sort of)

The bed area
Luckily for her this picture was taken after she had already spent days working on her room.  The floor had been completely covered with clothes books junk etc.  She still has a long way to go working  in here!

after

DD16 finally got her floor cleaned up enough to vacuum!

6/30/01
Hmm....
DD16 is returning home from her habitat for humanity trip tonight,
but this is how she left her room.  I think she's working on sorting through this stuff,
but I really hope she'll work harder on it when she returns!

update
7/4/01
She cleaned it up again!
It's getting much better, and she is still working on it a little each day.

The window alcove area of DD16's room.  She is never able to use this desk and I can't even remember how those shelves got leaned against the wall!  We need to decide on a place to use them!

after
6/13/01
One area of DD16's room that she has worked on.

7/4/01
The desk is a little messy, but she is trying to keep it a little neat.
I hung the show rack on her door.

6-5-01
This angle shows her closet (knee deep in clothes she probably can't or won't even wear anymore) and another area of her room that needs to be worked on.  (this closet is five feet deep, but the back wall angles in all the way to the front wall, no ceiling in it.  It would be difficult to put usefull shelves in here.)
The last time we worked on her room (in December!) I got her to remove most of the junk from her walls (ie. photograghs and collages made from murals) but as you can see it is back, and worse than before!

7/4/01
I'm proud she's learning to close her drawers and closet doors
and keep the junk off the floors...
but I wonder if she'll ever give up her love of wall clutter?

6-5-01
This is an extra closet in her room (also with no ceiling, just the back wall angled in to the front wall).  Last time we tried to declutter her room she said she didn't want a queen size bed taking up space in her room, but thinking she might like to have a place for friends to sleep (and not wanting to throw away a perfectly good mattress) I put it in here.  I guess that's pretty tacky especially since she has decided to pile junk on top of it.  So......I may consider disposing of if.

Update, she wants to keep the mattress in the closet, so she is going to clean out the junk!

6-6-01
This area of her room is usually hidden behind her door.

6-5-01
This is one of my storage closets in her room. In this picture you can see
the angle of the back wall, shelves would be impossible!
I really do need to sell some things that are in here and give away or throw away the rest.

I hauled out an old iron bed, my wooden bed (from when I was a teenager)
The baby cradle and a bag full of old stuffed animals.
At least I can walk into this closet now.
Most of these boxes are emprty and should just be thrown away,
but I'm worried I'll need them for shipping eBay sales
(whenever I get back to actually posting things for sale on eBay!)
And then there is the old stereo equipment that used to belong to my DMIL.
I'm going to see if I can talk ther DH into selling them or giving them away.

7/6/01
Okay, I know this doesn't look like progress,
but almost all of these boxes are empty.
As soon as I sell all the toys etc. that I need to sell at
eBay, I will get rid of any of these boxes that are left after shipping.
I may not even sell the toys at eBay, I'm seriously contemplating taking
them to a local consignment shop for children's toys and clothes,
if I do then I can quickly discard all of these boxes or donate
them to the woman down the street who sells a lot at eBay.
