This is the biggest
multiplayer map in Perfect Dark and one of my personal favorites!
The Fortress has four perfectly symmetrical bases tied together
by a simple set of corridors. This is definitely the BEST Capture
the Briefcase map in the full game. This map is big but easy to
learn, so learn it well!
One of the best strategies for
this level is patrolling the ledges like this one. You
have tons of escape routes, and lots of little slopes and
angles tiles to let you actually move around. As long as
you have some control of your person you shouldn't have
to worry about falling off!
If you get lucky or you're playing
with a bunch of new players, you will see someone
running across the center of the map at the bottom. If
you do see them, then of course blow their brains out!
The only reason for going down there is for the slot
three weapon, but you can find it at FOUR other places,
so really if you go down there you are just asking to be
killed!
Each base has one large room
faceted with many little corridors on each side. If you
are playing Capture the Briefcase a good team strategy is
to switch up your defensive positions, never giving the
other team a chance to breach the front line and enter
the base itself. There are weapon slots one and four
nearby for your ammunition needs!
Above every base there is this
large room with the slot three weapon. The two elevators
that go down lead to the base itself and the two doors
lead to the central part of the map!
Here is the place we
mentioned above that you DON'T want to be. Mainly because
it is easy to fall off and you are very vulnerable to
attack from players above. If you don't have a weapon go
into the nearest base instead!
One thing you shouldn't forget is
that there are these little tunnels underneath every
single base. The good part about these tunnels is that
you will find the slot six weapon here, so if you have to
time to take a little detour route than by all means do
it!
If an enemy gets into this top
area, you should do everything in your power to stop them
from getting into your base. Sometimes you can be a good
defense if are just a player with a hand grenade!
