Characters and Special Forces

In Star Wars Rebellion fleets and troops can be used to expand your territory. Some of the most important tasks are don by characters and special forces teams. Each character has attribute points in different areas depending on his or her special skills. The most important skills are diplomacy, espionage, and combat skills. These points dictate how likely the character is to complete a certain mission. In Rebellion there are many possible missions that can be done. Some can only be done by certain characters. Special Forces Teams:

In addition to special characters there are also special forces teams. Both the Empire and the Alliance have different teams to perform similar jobs. These teams are:

  • Reconnaissance teams: The recon teams are used to explore planets. They are especially useful for examining new planets for inhabitation as unexplored planets cannot be landed on without information from the recon teams. They are also useful for spying on enemy planets. Alliance have Longbow Y-wings and the Empire has Probe Droids.
  • There are also teams devoted to espionage. To issue espionage orders an enemy planet has to be targeted. Alliance have Bothan spies and the Empire has Espionage Droids.
  • There are also infiltration teams available for a variety of orders. To issue orders to an infiltration team a character or a facility can be targeted. If a character is selected as a target the team can abduct, sabotage, rescue or even assassinate. (only available to Empire Noghri Death Commandos). If a facility is targeted the team can sabotage the targeted facility.. Alliance have Infiltrators and Empire have Noghri Death Commandos.
  • There are also teams to control the population on planets friendly and enemy. These teams are issued orders by targeting a planet and they can either subdue an uprising on a friendly planet or incite an uprising on an enemy planet. Alliance have Guerillas and Empire have Imperial Commandos.

There are many reasons to why a character or team mission can fail:

  • The character you are attempting to select is either injured or captured.
  • The mission will fail if the character has a low skill rating in that area.
  • Missions to enemy planets such as sabotage, espionage and incite uprising can fail if the planet is well garrisoned with troops.
  • Diplomacy missions might fail on a neutral planet if the enemy is trying the same thing.
