Loyalty, Control and Diplomacy

In Rebellion there are a few ways to take control of a planet and all of it's resources. One of these ways is diplomacy. Diplomacy may be used when a planet has been explored and when  planet is neutral. This can be done by sending a character with a high diplomacy on a mission to that planet.

Another way of taking control of a planet is by force. A method of course favored by the empire. To take control by force a fleet has to be sent to that planet and a team must be sent from the fleet to assault the planet. If the battle is won the planet is yours. The main disadvantage to taking control by force is that you become very unpopular with the population and an uprising is likely. To keep the population under control a garrison is to be stationed on the planet. The number of troops required to keep control is indicated by the base's garrison number.

Another possibility is to inhabit a strange planet. To do this they first have to be explored either by using probe droids or a longbow Y-wing team. Once that has been done a fleet has to be sent to the planet and using the move command send down an army to establish a base. In time the planet will become loyal to you.

There are a few reasons why you can lose or gain loyalty in your systems.

  • You can lose loyalty and even send systems into uprising if you attack a planet or nearby planet that does not fully support you. Also if you use a death star to destroy a planet other planets in that sector may go into uprising if they do not support you.
  • In turn if you take over a planet that does support you the loyalty rating of that planet and nearby planets will increase.
  • You can increase loyalty by sending agents on diplomatic missions.
