Wizard Spells (5/5/5/5/5/3/3/2/1): Arnood has created only two of his own spells, as most of his "unique magic" was actually stolen from the wizard Vendralen Spelltwister. The special spells he has access to are as follows: 1st--Vendralen's fire-fly 2nd--Vendralen's pixie fireball 3rd--Vendralen's fire sprite 4th--Vendralen's missile reflection 5th--Vendralen's pixie swarm 6th--Arnood's shade armor 9th--Arnood's arrogant ambush**.

Weapons of Proficiency: Khopesh (mastery); dagger (wielded and thrown); dart; staff; two-hander style.

Nonweapon Proficiencies: blindfighting; direction sense; endurance; healing; herbalism; language modern (Alzedo); reading/writing (any he can speak); spellcraft; tactics of magic; tumbling.

Equipment: Standard adventuring gear, plus various spellbooks, scrolls and maps.

Magic Items: Vendralen's firebane robe of the archmagi, a ruby ring of telekinesis (200 lbs.); a red steel khopesh +3, of life stealing cloak of invulnerability to normal weapons.

Combat/tactics: Arnood typically casts numerous spells at his foes, while using homunculus shield to protect himself from harm. If taunted enough, this crazed mage will actually draw his sword and take to melee, but this never happens before he is protected enough to withstand a large scale melee battle.

Appearance: Arnood is an average sized man, standing 5'9" and always wearing a robe that flickers with magical flames. He is always in stunning appearance, finely trimmed hair and beard. He is sarcastic beyond measure and is usually bearing a snear of some sort upon his hansom face.

Personality: Arnood is evil and proud of it, if you are one of his rivals you better forever look behind you while guarding your front! He never admits failure, but has also never stayed around when out-numbered or out-powered.

Unique Abilities:

  • Attack Spells: As a Zhentarim mage, Arnood casts direct attack spells at +2 levels (he also casts Divination magic at -2 levels), this applies to all spells cast and all magical items invoked.
  • Contingencies: If reduced to 10 or less hit points, Arnood is teleported to his tower (near Citadel of the Raven). Otherwise the first round of combat, he is protected by spell turning, then by a globe of invulnerability, and finally on the third round, his enemies are affected by repulsion.
