Bane

Bane the Merciless
Bane grew up a large muscular barbarian in Icewind Dale. His father adopted the little (compared to Bane) barbarian boy (Rolt) that a fellow tribeman found. On his deathbed, Bane's father granted his title as chief of the tribe to Rolt and not Bane. Bane was furious at this and challenged Rolt to combat for the title.

In the battle that ensued, Rolt accidently punched out Bane's right eye! To prove he was still more man than Rolt, Bane took a piece of burning steel and thrust it into his wound. After the pain subsided and he regained his wits, he and some loyal barbarians set out into the tundra. He threatened to return one day and kill them all.

Combat/Tactics: Bane is a total animal...there is no other way to describe him. He kills almost anything in his path and no other creature so far has been able to severely hurt him...other than his nemesis Rolt. Bane is one of the few beings in the Realms to become a Grandmaster in a weapon. His endurace is legendary, Bane once held a valley against a horde of hobgoblins all by himself. He is so deadly, that only someone fighting with two weapons could hope to keep him at bay. Bane enters battle with a smile and shows mercy to no-one.

Appearance: Bane may very well be that most enormous barbarian to ever exist, standing 7' and weighing a monstrous 405 pounds. He wears black leather pants and boots. In his evil-looking armor and bearing his gray steel shield, Bane is indeed a terror to behold! He is missing his right eye, which now bears a scorched peice of iron instead of his eye. Bane's left eye is the color of moss, and he wears a helmet made of adamantite and the facial peice of a real human skull.

Personality: Loud, mean and strict. Bane will not tolerate disobedience, and has killed people for lesser crimes. He even went so far as to kill his own wife and son, because they were weak during a time of war.

Since his fall in the eyes of his tribe, Bane has been left soul bared and angry for revenge. He angers quickly and is constantly looking for the opportunity to do away with his nemesis Rolt. Bane's only peace would come from the death of the man who destroyed his eye, the former King Rolt of Helimbrash. It was Bane and the drow of house Barrison Del'Armgo who destroyed the city, while it was trying to recover from the invasion and massacre by the Bone Hordes (the two vampires Tarthul & Amara's undead legions).
