Equipment: A halberd, 5 hand axes, 5 warhammers, field plate mail, a great horned helm.

Magical Items: None.

Combat/Tactics: Bronax is an in-your-face type of warrior, typically running into battle and dismembering his opposition with his large polearm and pausing only to throw a hammer or axe into a well needing foe.

Allies/Companions: "The Guardian" Klaus of Tyr.

Foes/Enemies: Unknown evil planar creatures and some evil humans from the areas of Waterdeep, possibly even further.

Appearance: Bronax is massive in stature, standing a full 6' 10" and a huge 382 pounds. He is nearly a hand and a half taller than most people of the Realms. He has broad shoulders, and a barrel chest. He wears his long red hair in braids from his temples, and has a very well kept, short beard. Bronax has large laughing eyes of bright and true hazel. His demeanor is one of hearty life living. He wears field pate mail, and keeps it in a high state of shine. His helm is adorned with feathers, and engravings that tend to beguile the thickness of the steel. This too is shined, and well kept. His weapons are oiled, sharpened, and constantly checked for wear, always being kept in a high shine. His armor and his weapons are his "tools of the trade", and he pays particular attention to them. Of which, he also considers his body to be another tool. He eats well (aside from an occasional ale), and is always spending a part of his free time exercising.

Personality: Aside from his size, Bronax has a large heart as well. He is always concerned about the poor, and weak. He tries to help all he can almost to a fault.

He is friendly and cordial with all he meets, and has a genuine interest in people he spends any length of time with. He is very simple in his living. He rarely uses big words (he really doesn't know any) and has no place for politics, business, or merchandising, and prefers to keep it that way.

But, in light of his cheery disposition, he has a deep dark side. He cannot stand for those whom take advantage of weaker people. Whether it is a physical weakness, or simply some one lacking mental agility, he has no place for it. He often uses his mass in order to make these people back down, and be fair. He admits not to being the smartest man alive, and tries to get by on what he knows.

Locales Frequented: Waterdeep and its surrounding areas.

History: Bronax had left his homeland in the Fjords near Calaunt in efforts to seek his purpose in the world. He left his homeland under very good terms, and they often expected to hear from him.

He entered Calaunt, and observed a posting for open try-outs for the Lord?s court guards. Seeing that he was far bigger than anyone around, he attended the try-outs. He was doing superbly, and had one final test, multiple attackers. During this course of time, the Lords daughter had taken a liking to him, as well as the Lord himself. He had allowed Bronax to escort her to several functions even though he was not a full escort yet. Bronax and the girl had fallen in love.

During this exercise, all used training weapons, and the existing court guards judged them. However, one of the attackers was the man closely behind Bronax in the standings. During the 'fight' the man snuck in a dagger, and stabbed Bronax. The wound was shallow, and Bronax turned his attention directly on this man. With a powerful blow, even the training weapon killed this man. The fight ceased, and Bronax stood over the dying man, dagger still in his side.

The Lord ordered him arrested, and reluctantly tried him as a murderer. The one thing that saved him was the cries for mercy from the Lord's daughter.

Instead of being put to death, he received 20 lashings, and was confined for 15 years. That was a death sentence for prisoners in this part of the Realms. The prison was dark, dank, and wreaked with disease.

Bronax often was taken out and committed to hard labor, routinely beaten by guards, and often forced to do inhuman feats of strength.

The daughter often visited him, and gave him some form of sanity. Their love grew, but her father betrothed her to another man for the good of the realm. One day, she never came to see him. From that day on, he never saw her again.

Finally, after 8 years, the word was given that he was pardoned, and he was to be released at court. He was drug, fully shackled to the main hall. Upon the throne, he saw her. She was beautiful. But she looked away, and her husband sat next to her. The man beside her, the now ruling Lord, was none other than the warrior that tried to kill him.

The man in fact did not die, but recovered from his wounds, with help from the local clergy. Bronax was left to rot in the prison for murder he did not commit. Bronax, in a rage, physically broke his bonds. He decked a guard next to him, and stole his pole arm. He wheeled to face the enemy of his life, only to see he was holding her in front of him to protect himself.

The guards rushed him, but he was too fast, and too strong. Finally, he could confront the evil trickster. With a push, he ran, and the girl fell toward Bronax. He dropped the weapon, and caught her. She bid him to leave, and never return. This time he would surely be killed. In a tender moment they kissed. Bronax rose up, and ran. He ran from all authorities, until he wound up here, in Waterdeep. He is wanted dead or alive in Calaunt, but here he can survive. He often writes to her, and she sends him things. Over the last several years he has accumulated enough to buy a fine set of field plate mail, a larger than normal halberd, and several throwing weapons. He has since offered his abilities to caravans in town, and has recently taken up an offer to be a scout for Waterdeep. However, he is still looking for the one adventure that will bring his Aramathiea back to him.

Motivations/Goals: To live life to it's fullest and to help all those who need it along the way.

Campaign Uses: A mighty warrior, Bronax may be used wherever a massively damaging fighter is needed, or a softhearted warrior of honorable disposition.
