The Clergyman of Azuth
Vendralen was born the 27th of Ches in the Year of the Crown, to an alcoholic cook for a father and one of the most prominent battle mage-soldier in Halruaa for his mother. Studying at the House of the High One Ascendent, Vendralen soon learned to warp and change the effects of most other spells to some varying degree. With this knowledge he soon became an archmage in his own right, but a rival mage energy drained him and left him for dead. Only the help of the wizardess Ravenshield saved him. He soon began to learn all over again how he loved magic, but this time he learned the tightly focused discipline of the incantatrix. Now he is once again encountering the mage who thought him destroyed. And now their battle ensues...

Wizard Spells (5/4/4/3/2): As a former archmage and now quickly rising wizard, Vendralen has many of his own spells and many that he still has yet to invent for the second time(his enemy has them and made him forget them). These unique spell creations are: 1st--Vendralen's fire-fly 2nd--Vendralen's pixie fireball 3rd--Vendralen's fire sprite 4th--Vendralen's missile reflection 5th--Vendralen's pixie swarm.
Although he can't yet cast these spells, the first one is his current research project and the last one is his name spell, which he hasn't thought up yet (at least not since lossing his memories). These spells are: 6th--Vendralen's dragonfly 8th--Vendralen's spelltwister**

Weapons of Proficiency: As a Halruaan wizard, Vendralen may only learn to use two weapons in his life, those two weapons are: throwing knife and rod (all other weapon proficiency slots are lost).

Nonweapon Proficiencies: As a Halruaan wizard, Vendralen may not learn any battle related proficiencies, as such those he's learned thus far are: ancient history (Halruaa and the Cult of the Dragon); etiquette; heraldry; modern language (Elven); prestidigitation (sleight of hand); reading/writing (any he can speak); religion (worship of Azuth); research (+5% learn spells; halves the time in takes to research spells); riding land-based (horse); sage knowledge (Incantation magic; +5% learn spells of that school); scribe (+5% to learn copied spells); signature spell (Vendralen's fire-fly); spellcraft (+6); swimming; thaumaturgy (the study of spells Solmantic components; +5% to learn spells); 1 open.

Equipment: Standard mage adventuring gear, plus Jett and all his food and barding. Jett is Vendralen's coal-black light war horse (AC 6; hp 17; #AT 2; THAC0 17; Dmg/AT 1d4/1d4).

Magic Items: The Tri-Rings of the Archmagi*, a bronze ring of fire resistance, a ring of complete regeneration (regenerates any lost hit points while worn or when put on finger; only worn when needed), an ornate girdle of many pouches, cloak of elvenkind, a rod of smiting (29).

Combat/tactics: Vendralen as an incantatar, hasn't got many spells that are directly offensive in nature, but those spells of his own design make up for his school of preference. He can when he deems it the right time, lash out with magic normally only found among the invokers. These destructive spells are always of fiery nature and usually taunt or insult their victims before taking effect. Thus is the humorous nature of their wielder.

Appearance: Vendralen is a minor Noble from the far off southern land of Halruaa. He stands tall (6' 1") and is muscular for a mage, weighing close to 170 pounds. He is a rising force amongst the clergy of Azuth and is well on his way at 22 years of age. Other than Vendralen's exquisite tailored suits, in which he is always seen, he is known for his bright emerald green eyes and his naturally blonde-streaked, light brown hair. He allows his hair to flow about him down past his shoulders.

Personality: Vendralen is slow to trust others and is usually quite quiet. Those that know him, can see that he has a mean streak and that his sense of humor can be almost to the point of cruelty. He is commonly stern and serious, but upon ocassion he becomes the prankster. This can clearly be seen in his spell creation which always contain the spirt of their artist and creator.

Unique Abilities:

  • Focused Magic: As a Haluaan wizard, Vendralen's spells impose a -4 saving throw penalty on all those who are effected by his magic. This penalty is in addition to any other bonuses or penalties for the spell itself.
  • Incantatar Abilities: As a 9th-level incatatar, Vendralen is immune to all level draining in volving the Negative Material Plane; can see creatures and objects that are blinking, ethereal, out-of-phase, etc. to a range of 30-feet, and can physically or magically attack these subjects (with any of his spells, except for spellsteal, ruby ray of reversal, or unbinding).
