Rose
I grew a rose within a garden fair,
And, tending it with more than loving care,
I thought how, with the glory of its bloom,
I should the darkness of my life illume;
And, watching, ever smiled to see the lusty bud
Drink freely in the summer sun to tinct its blood.
My rose began to open, and its hue
Was sweet to me as to it sun and dew;
I watched it taking on its ruddy flame
Until the day of perfect blooming came,
Then hasted I with smiles to find it blushing red ---
Too late! Some thoughtless child had plucked my rose and fled!

The Doll and a White Rose
I hurried into the local department store to grab some last minute Christmas gifts. I looked at all the people and grumbled to myself. I would be in here forever and I just had so much to do. Christmas was beginning to become such a drag. I kinda wished that I could just sleep through Christmas. But I hurried the best I could through all the people to the toy department. Once again I kind of mumbled to myself at the prices of all these toys. And wondered if the grand kids would even play with them. I found myself in the doll aisle. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a little boy about 5 holding a lovely doll. He kept touching her hair and he held her so gently. I could not seem to help myself. I just kept looking over at the little boy and wondered who the doll was for. I watched him turn to a woman and he called his aunt by name and said, "Are you sure I don't have enough money?" She replied a bit impatiently, "You know that you don't have enough money for it. The aunt told the little boy not to go anywhere that she had to go get some other things and would be back in a few minutes. And then she left the aisle. The boy continued to hold the doll. After a bit I asked the boy who the doll was for. He said, "It is the doll my sister wanted so badly for Christmas. She just knew that Santa would bring it." I told him that maybe Santa was going to bring it. He said "No, Santa can't go where my sister is I have to give the doll to my Mamma to take to her". I asked him where his sister was. He looked at me with the saddest eyes and said "She has gone to be with Jesus". My Daddy says that Mama is going to have to go be with her. My heart nearly stopped beating. Then the boy looked at me again and said, "I told my Daddy to tell Mama not to go yet. I told him to tell her to wait till I got back from the store". Then he asked me if I wanted to see his picture. I told him I would love to. He pulled out some pictures he'd had taken at the front of the store. He said "I want my Mamma to take this with her so she don't ever forget me." "I love my Mama so very much and I wish she did not have to leave me. But Daddy says she will need to be with my sister." I saw that the little boy had lowered his head and had grown so very quiet. While he was not looking I reached into my purse and pulled out a handful of bills. I asked the little boy, "Shall we count that money one more time?" He grew excited and said "Yes, I just know it has to be enough". So I slipped my money in with his and we began to count it. Of course it was plenty for the doll. He softly said,"Thank you Jesus for giving me enough money." Then the boy said "I just asked Jesus to give me enough money to buy this doll so Mama can take it with her to give to my sister." "And he heard my prayer. I wanted to ask him for enough to buy my Mama a white rose, but I didn't ask him, but he gave me enough to buy the doll and a rose for my Mama." "She loves white roses so very, very much". In a few minutes the aunt came back and I wheeled my cart away. I could not keep from thinking about the little boy as I finished my shopping in a totally different spirit than when I had started. And I kept remembering a story I had seen in the newspaper several days earlier about a drunk driver hitting a car and killing a little girl and the Mother was in serious condition. The family was deciding on whether to remove the life support. Now surely this little boy did not belong with that story. Two days laterI read in the paper where the family had disconnected the life support and the young woman had died. I could not forget the little boy and just kept wondering if the two were somehow connected. Later that day, I could not help myself and I went out and bought some white roses and took them to the funeral home where the young woman was. There she was holding a lovely white rose, the beautiful doll, and the picture of the little boy in the store. I left there in tears, my life changed forever. The love that little boy had for his little sister and his mother was overwhelming. And in a split second a drunk driver had ripped the life of that little boy to pieces.
An Angel Story
Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a
wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.
When the younger angel asked why,the older angel replied.... "Things aren't always what they seem."
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but
very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food
they had, the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they
could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.
The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel, "How
could you have let this happen!? The first man had everything, yet you helped him," she accused. "The second family had little but was
willing to share everything, and you let their cow die."
"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied. "When
we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold
stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with
greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so
he wouldn't find it.
Then last night as we slept in the farmer's bed, the angel of death
came for his wife. I gave her the cow instead. "Things aren't always what they seem."
Sometimes this is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the
way you think they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust
that every outcome is always to your advantage. You might not know
it until some time later.
"When, Where, and Why"
A Promise
You are my friend and I hope you know that's true.
Hope
I hope, I pray, await the day
I live, I breathe, for you to stay
Within my life, my heart I birth
Only to you, your love I serve.
I soar, I fly, warm tears I cry
To give to you, to self I die
Bursting forth, without reserve
Devotion, warmth, enamoured love.
I walk, I run, inside my head
Each day, each night unto your bed
Forever near, forever here
Forever darling, shielding fear.
I fall, and laugh, intense embrace
And feel your kisses on my face
Your touch, your gaze further falling
Into your life, always calling.
I hope, I pray, await the day
To hear you say that you will stay
Close by, together, our hearts to brand
Lifelong, eternal, as one we stand.

Dark and Lonely Nights
To be able to run my fingers,
Or to gaze so longingly,
To feel your soft skin,
To watch you walk in the room,
I love you so much it hurts,
Sometimes I wake up late at night,
The days I don't mind as much,
So I gather my strength together,
One that is older than time itself,
In a little time soon,
But until I reach that point,
One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impaired the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens o'er her face; Where thoughts serenely sweet express, How pure, how dear their dwelling-place. And on that cheek, and o'er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent!

:) SMILE :)
She smiled at a sorrowful stranger.
The smile seemed to make him feel better.
He remembered past kindnesses of a friend
And wrote him a thank you letter.
The friend was so pleased with the thank you
That he left a large tip after lunch.
The waitress, surprised by the size of the tip,
Bet the whole thing on a hunch.
The next day she picked up her winnings,
And gave part to a man on the street.
The man on the street was grateful;
For two days he'd had nothing to eat.
After he finished his dinner,
He left for his small dingy room.
He didn't know at that moment
That he might be facing his doom.
On the way he picked up a shivering puppy
And took him home to get warm.
The puppy was very grateful
To be in out of the storm.
That night the house caught on fire.
The puppy barked the alarm.
He barked till he woke the whole household
And saved everybody from harm.
One of the boys that he rescued
Grew up to be President.
All this because of a simple smile
That hadn't cost a cent.
Eight Gifts That Do Not Cost A Cent
1) THE GIFT OF LISTENING...
But you must REALLY listen.
No interrupting, no daydreaming,
no planning your response.
Just listening.
2) THE GIFT OF AFFECTION...
Be generous with appropriate hugs,
kisses, pats on the back and handholds.
Let these small actions demonstrate the
love you have for family and friends.
3) THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER...
Clip cartoons.
Share articles and funny stories.
Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."
4) THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE...
It can be a simple
"Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet.
A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for
a lifetime, and may even change a life.
5) THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT...
A simple and sincere,
"You look great in red," "You did a super job"
or "That was a wonderful meal"
can make someone's day.
6) THE GIFT OF A FAVOR...
Every day, go out of your way
to do something kind.
7) THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE...
There are times when we want nothing better
than to be left alone.
Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of
solitude to others.
8) THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION...
The easiest way to feel good is
to extend a kind word to someone,
really it's not that hard to say,
Hello or Thank You.
Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and
encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word
of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.
A Love Story: Which Girl Do I Marry?
A young man had seriously dated three girls and was finally faced with
the dilemma of which to marry. As a test he gave each of them one
thousand dollars. The first girl went for a complete hair and face makeover, new clothes, and new shoes. She returned to show off her new look saying, "I want to be at my most beautiful for you. Why? Because I love you, dear." The second girl returned with new hockey and golf equipment, a newstereo, VCR, and month's supply of beer saying, "I bought all these things for you. They're my gifts to you, because I love you so." The third girl invested the $1,000 wisely and very quickly doubled her original amount. She reinvested the profits which continued to multiply and returned the first thousand to the young man saying, "I have taken your money and made it grow as an investment in our future together. That's how much I love you, my dear." The young man was very impressed by all of their responses. He then gave long and careful consideration and finally married the one with the biggest breasts.
"My Angel In Disguise"
So many times I felt the need
JUDGE ME BY THE FOOTPRINTS I LEAVE BEHIND
A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam
He called his parents from San Francisco.
"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've got a favor to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring with me."
"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."
"There's something you should know the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mined and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."
"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."
"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."
"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."
At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him.
A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide.
The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son.
They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.
The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable.
We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.
Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way.
Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.
Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us!!!
There's a miracle called -Friendship- that dwells in the heart.
You don't know how it happens or when it gets started. But you know the special lift It always brings and you realize that Friendship Is God's most precious gift!
LOVE
It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return,
but what is more painful is to love someone and never
find the courage to let that person know how you feel.
Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before
meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the
right person, we will know how to be grateful for that
gift.
Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion,
and the romance in a relationship and find out you
still care for that person.
A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means
a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was
never meant to be and you just have to let go.
When the door of happiness closes, another opens but
most times we look so long at the closed door that we
don't see the one which has been opened for us.
The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a
porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk
away feeling like it was the best conversation you've
ever had.
It's true that we don't know what we've got until we
lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what
we've been missing until it arrives.
Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that
they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return;
just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it
doesn't, be content it grew in yours.
There are things you'd love to hear that you would
never hear from the person whom you would like to hear
them from, but don't be so deaf as not to hear it from
the one who says it from his heart.
Never say good-bye if you still want to try; never
give up if you still feel you can go on; never say
you don't love a person anymore if you can't let go.
Love comes to those who still hope although they've
been disappointed; to those who still believe, although
they've been betrayed; to those who still need to love,
although they've been hurt before, and to those who
have the courage and faith to build trust again.
It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone,
an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone -
but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for
wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes
you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark
day seem bright. Hope you find the one that makes
you smile.
There are moments in life when you miss someone so much
that you just want to pick them from your dreams and
hug them for real! Hope you dream of that special
someone.
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want
to go; be what you want to be, because you have only
one life and one chance to do all the things you want
to do.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough
trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you
human, enough hope to make you happy and enough money
to buy me gifts (??!!).
Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that
it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.
A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may
wreck a life; a timely word may level stress; a loving
word may heal and bless.
The beginning of love is to let those we love be just
themselves, and not twist them with our own image -
otherwise, we love only the reflection of ourselves we
find in them.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best
of everything; they just make the most of everything
that comes along their way.
Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those
who have searched, and those who have tried, for only
they can appreciate the importance of people who have
touched their lives.
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends
with a tear.
The brightest future will always be based on a
forgotten past, you can't go on well in life until you
let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around
you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die,
you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you
is crying.
Knighthood and Virtues
PROWESS: To seek excellence in all endeavors expected of a knight, martial and otherwise, seeking strength to be used in the service of justice, rather than in personal aggrandizement.
JUSTICE: Seek always the path of 'right', unencumbered by bias or personal interest. Recognize that the sword of justice can be a terrible thing, so it must be tempered by humanity and mercy. If the 'right' you see rings agrees with others, and you seek it out without bending to the temptation for expediency, then you will earn renown beyond measure.
LOYALTY: Be known for unwavering commitment to the people and ideals you choose to live by. There are many places where compromise is expected; loyalty is not amongst them.
DEFENSE: The ideal knight was sworn by oath to defend his liege lord and those who depended upon him. Seek always to defend your nation, your family, and those to whom you believe worthy of loyalty.
COURAGE: Being a knight often means choosing the more difficult path, the personally expensive one. Be prepared to make personal sacrifices in service of the precepts and people you value. At the same time, a knight should seek wisdom to see that stupidity and courage are cousins. Courage also means taking the side of truth in all matters, rather than seeking the expedient lie. Seek the truth whenever possible, but remember to temper justice with mercy, or the pure truth can bring grief.
FAITH: A knight must have faith in his beliefs, for faith roots him and gives hope against the despair that human failings create.
HUMILITY: Value first the contributions of others; do not boast of your own accomplishments, let others do this for you. Tell the deeds of others before your own, according them the renown rightfully earned through virtuous deeds. In this way the office of knighthood is well done and glorified, helping not only the gentle spoken of but also all who call themselves knights.
LARGESSE: Be generous in so far as your resources allow; largesse used in this way counters gluttony. It also makes the path of mercy easier to discern when a difficult decision of justice is required.
NOBILITY: Seek great stature of character by holding to the virtues and duties of a knight, realizing that though the ideals cannot be reached, the quality of striving towards them ennobles the spirit, growing the character from dust towards the heavens. Nobility also has the tendency to influence others, offering a compelling example of what can be done in the service of rightness.
FRANCHISE: Seek to emulate everything I have spoken of as sincerely as possible, not for the reason of personal gain but because it is right. Do not restrict your exploration to a small world, but seek to infuse every aspect of your life with these qualities. Should you succeed in even a tiny measure then you will be well remembered for your quality and virtue.

Quote of the Day about Love
Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build this whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life... You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They do something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should just be friends' or 'how very perceptive' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a body-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-out-you-apart pain. I hate love.

"Always Say I Love You"
The doctor took a couple of tests
She ran down the street screaming
So Brittney and her parents moved to Florida
They collected seashells together
"I've got leukemia, and about a month more."
So one day Brittney painted her picture
"I love you more then anyone,"
As she lay in Jay's arms
"shmily"
I think of the love my parents and many of their friends have shared over the years and their way of saying Shmily. Daniel
"shmily"
My grandparents were married for over half a century and played their own special game from the time they had met each other.. The goal of their game was to write the word"shmily" in a surprise place for the other to find. They took turns leaving "shmily" around the house and as soon as one of them discovered it, it was their turn to hide it once more. They dragged "shmily" with their fingers through the sugar and flour containers, to await whoever was preparing the next meal. They smeared it in the dew on the windows overlooking the patio (where my grandma always fed us warm, homemade pudding with blue food coloring).
"Shmily"
was written in the steam left on the mirror after a hot shower, where it would reappear bath after bath. At one point, my grandmother even unrolled an entire roll of toilet paper, to leave "shmily"
on the very last sheet. There was no end to the places "shmily"
would pop up. Little notes with "shmily"
scribbled hurriedly were found on dashboards and car seats, or taped to steering wheels. The notes were stuffed inside shoes and left under pillows.
"Shmily"
was written in the dust upon the mantel and traced in the ashes of the fireplace. This mysterious word was as much a part of my grandparents' house as the furniture.
It took me a long time before I was able to fully appreciate my grandparents' game. Skepticism has kept me from believing in true love - one that is pure and enduring. However, I never doubted my grandparents' relationship. They had love down pat. It was more than their flirtatious little games; it was a way of life. Their relationship was based on a devotion and passionate affection, which not everyone is lucky to experience.
Grandma and Grandpa held hands every chance they could.,They stole kisses, as they bumped into each other in their tiny kitchen. They finished each other's sentences and shared the daily crossword puzzle and word jumble.
My grandma whispered to me about how cute my grandpa was, how handsome and old he had grown to be. She claimed that she really knew "how to pick 'em."
Before every meal they bowed their heads and gave thanks, marveling at their blessings: a wonderful family, good fortune and each other.
But, there was a dark cloud in my grandparents' lives: my grandmother had breast cancer. The disease had first appeared ten years earlier.
As always, Grandpa was with her every step of the way. He comforted her in their yellow room, painted that way so she could always be surrounded by sunshine, even when she was too sick to go outside.
Now the cancer was again attacking her body. With the help of a cane and my grandfather's steady hand, they went to church every morning.
But, my grandmother grew steadily weaker (until, finally, she could not leave the house anymore.) For a while, Grandpa would go to church alone, praying to God to watch over his wife.
Then one day, what we all dreaded finally happened. Grandma was gone.
"Shmily."
It was scrawled in yellow on the pink ribbons of my grandmother's funeral bouquet.
As the crowd thinned and the last mourners turned to leave, my aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members came forward and gathered around Grandma one last time.
Grandpa stepped up to my grandmother's casket and (taking a shaky breath) he began to sing to her. Through his tears and grief, the song came (a deep and throaty lullaby).
Shaking with my own sorrow, I will never forget that moment. For I knew that (although I couldn't begin to fathom the depth of their love) I had been privileged to witness its' unmatched beauty.
S-h-m-i-l-y:
See How Much I Love You.
Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa, for letting me see.
"WOMEN"
Women have strengths that amaze men. They carry children, they carry hardships, they carry burdens ... but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. Women wait by the phone for a "safe at home call" from a friend after a snowy drive home. Woman friends keep secrets you told them years ago and never bring them up again.
Women have special qualities about them. They volunteer for good causes. They are pink ladies in hospitals, they take food to shut ins. They are child care workers, executives, attorneys, stay at home moms, biker babes and your neighbors. They wear suits, they wear jeans, they wear uniforms. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up for injustice. They are in the front row at PTA meetings. They vote for the person that will do the best job for family issues. They walk and talk the extra mile to get their children in the right schools and for getting their family the right health care.
Women write to the editor, their congressmen and to "the powers that be" for things that make for a better life. They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They can wipe a tear, cover a cut and give a pat on the back at the same time. They eat a little so their family can have more. They rush to school to pick up a sick child. They stick a love note in their sweetheart's lunch box.
Women do without new shoes so that their children can have them. They go to scout meetings and chaperone class trips. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They don't make excuses for defending their family or friends. They give a friend some money in times of trouble. They love unconditionally. They are loyal, honest and forgiving. They are smart, knowing that knowledge IS power. But, they still know how to use their softer side to make a point. Their world consists of goodness, love and caring.
Women want to be the best for their family, their friends and themselves. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. They get teary eyed when others do great things. They save their anger for the unjust and the insincere. They tell people that need to be told to straighten up their act. They lend a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen and a voice to make suggestions.
Women are happy when they hear about a birth or a new marriage. Their hearts break when a friend dies. They have so much sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is not any strength left. They can control situations that seem uncontrollable. They can round up energy when they are tired. They can stay up a little longer to talk to someone who needs a friend. They will rush to be by your side when you are lonely. They will give up their favorite TV show to help with homework or read a bedtime story.
A woman's touch can cure any ailment. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. She can make a romantic evening unforgettable. She can bring out the best in her husband, children and friends. A woman doesn't mind standing in the shadows. They are not there to push, but to gently encourage. They are cheerleaders, teachers, lovers and important in many peoples daily lives. They can whisper a kind word, scream a loud cheer and laugh away a fear. They can mend your broken spirit and give you back your self-esteem. They can knit a family back together after a break up or a loss.
Women come in all sizes, in all colors and shapes. They live in homes, apartments, cabins and trailers. They drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you. They have hearts that forgive and forget an injustice. They have hearts that remember a kindness. They have hearts that beat with loyalty and love. The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin. They can cry and laugh at the same time. They can be sad and hopeful at the same time.
Women do more than just give birth. They bring joy and hope. They teach us to dream and make goals. They give compassion and ideals. They climb into a persons life and make everything better again. They give moral support to their family and friends. And all they want back is a hug, a smile and for you to do the same to people you come in contact with.
Women are leaders, but don't want followers. They want people to grow into the best person they can be. They want to touch you in a way that will make you share your goodness with others. One touch can turn a bad day into a better one. One extra minute of her time will make a child feel special. One more kiss will make her beloved feel more loved.
Women have a lot to say and a lot to give. Let us strive to listen more and to appreciate more each day!
YOU STILL HAVE HOPE
If you can find beauty in the colors of
a small flower,
then you still have hope.
If you can find pleasure in the movement
of a butterfly,
then you still have hope.
If the smile of a child can still warm your heart,
then you still have hope.
If you can see the good in other people,
then you still have hope.
If the rain breaking on a roof top can still
lull you to sleep,
then you still have hope.
If the sight of a rainbow still makes you
stop and stare in wonder,
then you still have hope.
If the soft fur of a favored pet still feels pleasant
under your fingertips,
then you still have hope.
If you meet new people with a trace of
excitement and optimism,
then you still have hope.
If you give people the benefit of a doubt,
then you still have hope.
If you still offer your hand in friendship to
others that have touched your life,
then you still have hope.
If receiving an unexpected card or letter
still brings a pleasant surprise,
then you still have hope.
If the suffering of others still fills you with
pain and frustration,
then you still have hope.
If you refuse to let a friendship die,
or accept that it must end,
then you still have hope.
If you look forward to a time or place of
quiet and reflection,
then you still have hope.
If you still buy the ornaments, put up the
Christmas tree or cook the turkey,
then you still have hope.
If you still watch love stories or want the endings
to be happy,
then you still have hope.
If you can look to the past and smile,
then you still have hope.
If, when faced with the bad, when told
everything is futile, you can still look up and
end the conversation with the phrase...
"yeah....BUT.."
then you still have hope
Hope is such a marvelous thing.
It bends, it twists, it sometimes hides,
but rarely does it break.
It sustains us when nothing else can.
It gives us reason to continue and courage
to move ahead, when we tell ourselves we'd
rather give in.
Hope puts a smile on our face when the heart
cannot manage.
Hope puts our feet on the path when our eyes
cannot see it.
Hope moves us to act when our souls are confused
of the direction.
Hope is a wonderful thing,
something to be cherished and nurtured,
and something that will refresh us in return.
And it can be found in each of us,
and it can bring light into the darkest of places.
Never lose hope
Under His Wings
After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began
their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage. One ranger
found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree. Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick. When he struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise.
She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies.
When the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body, the mother had remained steadfast. Because she had been willing to die, those under the cover of her wings would live.
"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find
refuge;..." (Psalm 91:4)
Being loved this much should make a difference in your life. Remember the One who loves you and then, be different because of it.
Special People
The special people in this world are the most precious
and the most appreciated people of all.
No matter what happens, they always understand.
They go a million miles out of their way.
They hold your hand.
They bring you smiles, when a smile is exactly what you need.
They listen, and they hear what is said
in the spaces between the words.
They care, and they let you know you're in their prayers.
Special people always know the perfect thing to do.
They can make your whole day just by saying something
that no one else could have said.
Sometimes you feel like they share with you a secret language that others can't tune into.
Special people can guide you, inspire you, comfort you and
Special people understand your moods and nurture your needs.
They lovingly know just what you're after.
When your feelings come from deep inside
and the need to be spoken to someone;
you don't have to hide from, you share them.
... With special people.
When good news comes
Special people are the first ones you turn to,
When feelings overflow and tears need to fall.
Special people help you through it all.
Special people bring sunlight into your life.
They warm your world with their presence,
whether they are far away or close by your side.
Special people are gifts that bring happiness and
treasures that money can't buy.

Well here are a few reasons that guys like girls
1. They will always smell good even if its just shampoo
As you got up this morning,
I watched you,
and hoped you would talk to me,
even if it was just a few words,
asking my opinion or thanking me
for something good that happened
in your life yesterday.
But I noticed you were too busy,
trying to find the right outfit to wear.
When you ran around the house getting ready,
I knew there would be a few minutes
for you to stop and say hello,
but you were to busy.
At one point you had to wait,
fifteen minutes with nothing to do
except sit in a chair.
Then I saw you spring to your feet.
I thought you wanted to talk to me
but you ran to the phone and called a friend
to get the latest gossip instead.
I watched patiently all day long.
With all your activities
I guess you were too busy to say
anything to me.
I noticed that before lunch you looked around,
maybe you felt embarrassed to talk to me,
that is why you didn't bow your head.
You glanced three or four tables over
and you noticed some of your friends
talking to me briefly before they ate, but you didn't.
That's okay.
There is still more time left,
and I hope that you will talk to me yet.
You went home and it seems as if
you had lots of things to do.
After a few of them were done,
you turned on the TV.
I don't know if you like TV or not,
just about anything goes there
and you spend a lot of time
each day in front of it
not thinking about anything,
just enjoying the show.
I waited patiently again
as you watched the TV and ate your meal,
but again you didn't talk to me.
Bedtime I guess you felt too tired.
After you said goodnight to your family
you plopped into bed and fell asleep in no time.
That's okay because you may not realize
that I am always there for you.
I've got patience,
more than you will ever know.
I even want to teach you how
to be patient with others as well.
I love you so much that I wait
everyday for a nod, prayer or thought
or a thankful part of your heart.
It is hard to have a one-sided conversation.
Well, you are getting up once again.
And once again I will wait,
with nothing but love for you.
Hoping that today you will give me some time.
Have a nice day!
