STRANGE ENCOUNTER

Last night a stranger came to me

His eyes ablaze with fire

He gently laid beside me

I melted with desire

He whispered softly in my ear

My heart was beating wild

And rocked me gently in his arms

As though I were a child

His touch was like a velvet glove

Soothing to my skin

I ached to have his lips on mine

And felt no sense of sin

He loved me with a passion

I'd never known before

I felt if he would stay by me

I'd never ask for more

I fell into exhausted sleep

Just before the dawn

When I awoke I turned to him

But found that he was gone

And so I wait for his return

It's fated it would seem

That no mortal man can quite compare

To the stranger in my dream

LEARNING TO LOVE AGAIN

It seems you looked into my soul

At the demons lurking there

At the ghosts of broken promises

And witnessed my despair

You did not turn your face away

When you saw what lay inside

The needs that I kept hidden

And the hurt I felt inside

Instead, you put your hand in mine

And the words you spoke were wise

You said" you have to be yourself"

You made me realize

The lie I had been living

Kept me from being free

To live and love and laugh again

To be the one who's me

You touched my skin with caring

You made me come alive

You gave me back the confidence

With which I will survive

And If hurting is the price I pay

For feelings born anew

I'll make that payment gladly
