Home School Association
Individual
consultations between parents and teachers are arranged as
the need arises. As well as this, a vibrant Parent Association exists in
the school, which organises links with National Parent Councils, a news letter,
fund-raising, and involves itself in the many and varied activities of the school both
social and educational. As parenting to-day has become more complex, the school tries to
be of assistance in this area. Talks from visiting speakers are arranged for parents of
the various years and the parents themselves organise 'Parents Days' which are focused on
the practical needs of parents in the modern world.
Educationalists throughout the
world recognise the need for parental involvement if the school is to achieve its aims.
Since parents are the primary educators of their children, the school tries to create and
maintain channels of communication, information and consultion with parents of all pupils.
The school places a strong
emphasis on the partnership with parents to
ensure the best possible progress of each student. The education of the young person is
seen as a joint effort between the student, the parents and the school and therefore great
emphasis is placed on mutual co-operation.
Contact with parents is maintained
through regular Parent/Teacher Meetings
and by means of formal reports issued twice yearly.
