Presentation of Material Business Letters, proofreader's marks, outlines, reports
Guided Practice Using the 3 addresses you were to bring in Tuesday, create 3 cover letters.  ALL of these letters will fit on one page!
Each letter will be in a different letter format (there are 4).  You will use your real name and address for both letterhead and signature.
For the 4th style of letter, you will create a letter addressed to me asking for a reference.  In this letter, tell me who you are, how I know you, what you want, why I should remember you, what you have done (in and out of my class), what organizations you belong to, etc.
Pick one of your cover letters and exchange it with someone else.  Take that exchanged letter and "proofread" it using as many of the proofreaders' marks as you can (same as last time, it doesn't have to make sense as long as you use the marks properly).  Write "proofread by" and your name on the letter.  Give the letter back.
Make the changes marked by your proofreader.  Print it.  Staple the two letters together.
On another letter, use callout boxes and label each part of the letter (and to identify which of the 4 styles each letter is representing).   Print and staple to original letter.
Turn in all 6 letters along with your resume.
