     Notes/Materials New research paper:  Cost of College.  This paper will be between 5 and 10 pages long (include page numbers with your last name instead of the word "page"), double spaced, 1 1/2" left margin, 1" top, right, and bottom margins, Font Chicago, Tahoma, Arial, or Gil Sans, size 12.  With a Title Page (not counted as one of the 5 to 10 pages required).   Use the table function in word or embedded spreadsheets for the comparative analyses.
     In the first section, research two colleges one of which will be either UNLV or UNR.  Define core requirements and major/minor requirements.   Compare the core requirements between the two colleges.  Compare the core requirements between the two colleges.  Compare tuition costs (remember to include whether the tuition is in-state, out-of-state, or reduced).  Include in your tuition costs the cost per credit, text book costs, and additional fees required for any of the courses that have such fees.
     In the second section, research the cost of living for the area where the colleges are located.  Compare the cost of in state vs out of state living (on campus housing vs off-campus housing vs living at home).  Remember to include such items as rent, utilities, phone, food, transportation, entertainment, (includes cost of internet connection, movies, books, magazines, newspapers, etc.)  Conclude this section with a total cost for each school for the 4 year period (broken down by year).
     In the third section research scholorships available to you at each of the schools you have chosen, and, if applied for, which portions of the total cost each scholarship will pay for (find a minimum of 3 scholarships available to you at each school).
     In the fourth section research the climate and general area surrounding the schools you have chosen and compare them.  Be sure to include all 4 seasons.
     In the fifth section create a plan detailing how you will finance the remaining cost of a 4 year education.  In this section include at least 3 job opportunities for each college location.
     An outline for your paper will be due Friday, January 30.  A first draft of your paper will be due Friday, February 20.  You finalized research paper will be due Friday, March 6.
