Bud now goes steady with his girlfriend Georgia. His parents still
know nothing about his situation since Georgia doesn't want it: On
one hand she has a problem to accept that Bud's close with his
mother - someone Georgia doesn't have since her mother's dead - and
on the other hand with the fact that she and her dad live in a poor
apartment whilst Bud with his parents live in the richer area. To
prove that his relationship with his mother means no problem to them,
Bud promises to go out with her on Friday - realizing too late that
on that day the party for his mother's birthday takes place.

friend Gene. Reluctantly, her parents let her go not knowing if
she will ever return.

job in order to become a famous author after an article of his was

present, and after he invites Kathy to the 'banquet they will throw
for him' she's so excited that her parents can't tell her the truth
and try to fix this the more unusual way.
