  • You can run your appartment as an office, club, shop or whatever.
  • Appartments will be protected with an alphanumeric code.
  • On CityCom every player can open an own thread and discuss whatever he wants.
  • There are 5 different appartment 'classes':
  • A - Is your starter appartment. A small but tidy two room appartment at Plaza.
  • B - A moderated sized appartment at Plaza or Via Rosso. Very good to run your own small business.
  • C - A very big appartment or penthouse at Plaza or Via Rosso. Good as a Guild's home or big office.
  • D - A dirty one bed rathole at Pepper Park. This is where you have to live when you get banned from Plaza and Via Rosso.
  • E - A very big appartment at Pepper Park or in the Outzone.
  • There'll be elevators in the appartment houses that get you directly into the appartment.
  • The sectors of a district will have a clear ID that you can find easily.
  • The city has clubs, discos and other kind of social venues. Some clubs have registrations (like you have to have a certain EXL to enter).
  • You can classify the "space" you buy as an appartment (private), a shop or office (business) or a clan house.
  • There'll be some buildings that only offer office space or clanhouse space or appartments.
  • There will be ammo lying around, but usually you buy it at shops.
  • Armor absorbs damage and can be repaired. Most common armor: skeletal inforcements (implanted under the skin).
  • Weapons in the game: longbow, several energy weapons, psi modulator...
  • You have to have a certain skill level to use a certain weapon or to upgrade that weapon.
  • There are only two hit zones: The head and the rest of the body.
  • There will be a lot to explore in the Wastelands and in the Outzone.
  • There will be quakes in the wastelands.
  • The huge sewer system underneath the city connects all districts, but the entrances and exits are difficult to find. There are mutants especially in the sewers underneath the outzone.
  • Every object has a certain weight, and you can carry a certain weight (encumbrance).
  • If you enter a contaminated area and you don't have appropriated gear, you'll not be able to pass it without suffering from heavy damage.
  • You can customize your avatar by using clothes and other stuff.
  • You start the game with an appartment but you'll be able to work towards a bigger one or even a penthouse.
  • You cannot take over NPC institutions like banks or so.
  • When an hacking attempt fails, the hacker will get an electric shock (hacking is done through a neuro connection).
  • When someone dies he'll lose skillpoints, not entire skills.
  • Hackers can try to disable security systems, open doors remotely etc. They can log into any security system in Neocron and hack it from their HomeTerm.
  • Some NPC's can be killed.
  • There will be, probably, spy drones and kamikaze drones. You can buy robots/drones but not build them.
  • You'll be able to enter the sewers, several mines in the wastelands and some other underground installations.
  • Neocron should run fine on any P2 system with at least a 3DFX 2. It also runs on slower/smaller systems, but not so 'fine'.
  • Movement cannot be configured individually (except for a full keyboard configuration).
  • There will be no children NPC's in the game.
  • You have to pay (Neocron credits) to play in the arcades.
  • Poison, acid and other environmental pollution has a direct impact on your health.
  • There's a PSI skill that makes possible to ressurect people.
  • Some ways to earn money:
  • trade stuff,
  • take on jobs (bounty hunter, delivery boy, sabotage missions, etc.)
  • Stock Exchange
  • After a job successfully done you earn money and XP, except for player jobs where you get 'only' money.
  • There is a top 100 list of the most bright and the most dark souls in Neocron which is published over LawNet.
  • You can open a clanhouse.
  • There are abandoned buildings (old spaceship industry) in the Wastelands. Most of them are very far away from each other.
  • Hoverbikes can be used everywhere.
  • You can take items from your victims.
  • Only one character per account.
  • The more evil you are, the harder it is to become 'good' again. In the worst case you'd have to wait until someone becomes even more evil and then kill him.
  • You have to kill people who are more evil than you, when you want to become 'better'.
  • The more bright the one you kill is, the more evil you get. The more evil the guy you kill is, the better you get.
  • Suported input devices: mouse and keyboard.
  • There won't be a macintosh version.
  • CopBots are strictly GMs. You need to apply to become a GM and then become a CopBot.
  • There's no party system in the way you have it in other MMORPGs.
  • Area weapons will injure your party members if you aren't careful with em.
  • You cannot actually hack into bank accounts. Apts. and accounts are safe.
  • Inside the city there's no day and night because you're under a dome, but there are dynamically changing and very moody light and fog settings.
  • All drugs, hypos and boosts are legal in Neocron. Since most drugs reduce you life expectancy, making drugs legal helps to handle over population.
  • There's no other punishment than death. The jail is not needed by CityAdmin any longer. The abandoned bldg. is the home of a gang now.
  • Real players can hook up to the holomatches via a StarTerm. You pay for play (Neocron credits) and you can gain exp, but not lose exp or your inventory.
