  Theoretical fundamentals of modern digital signal processing;
Digital filters; practical and tutorial work with a DSP-board e.g. TMS320C50.
 
  PURPOSE -
The aim of the module is to establish a basis enabling students to understand and apply modern methods of signal processing.
 

INDICATIVE CONTENT -
One and two dimensional digital signal processing:
signals, review of Fourier and Z-transformation techniques, DFT, FFT, convolution and correlation.
Digital Filters:
Design, analyse and critically compare the characteristics of IIR- and FIR filters.
Practical work:
Implementation and real-time test of various filter programs on the DSP-Board TMS320C50.
