(Reproduced from Edited Hansard dated 19th November, 1996)

Encik Wong Ho Leng asked the Chief Minister and Minister for Resource Planning: Is the State Government prepared to release the feasibility study and other related reports prepared by the SAMA Consortium in the early 1980s. If the answer is in the affirmative, state the time for the release. If the answer is in the negative, why.

Timbalan Ketua Menteri dan Menteri Kewangan dan Kemudahan Awam (Datuk Dr. George Chan Hong Nam): Tuan Speaker, the feasibility study and other related reports prepared by SAMA Consortium were undertaken with a grant from the Federal Government. The reports are now in the custody of the Federal Government which is the authority to determine whether the study and other related reports should be released to the public.

By virtue of Standing Order 18(1)(b), questions relating to the Federal Government's policy on the release of such reports cannot be answered in this Dewan.
