Encik Wong Ho Leng asked the Minister for Infrastructure Development:

(a) Whether there has been any plan or proposal by the State Government to build either or both the Igan Bridge and/or the Sungai Assan Bridge;

(b) How many plans or proposals have been received from the private sector by the State Government on bridges construction in Sibu across the Rejang River;

(c) Ekran Berhad's Tan Sri Datuk Ting Pek King had said he had proposed to build eight bridges across Rejang River. Has the State Government received, endorsed or accepted any of the proposals. Tan Sri had also said that he had got all plans ready which could be inspected by members of the public. Has the State Government received any of such plan.

Menteri Pembangunan Infrastruktur (Datuk Wong Soon Koh): Tuan Speaker, the answer to question (a), at present there has been no proposals on the part of the government to build bridges across Sungai Igan or across Batang Rejang and Sungai Assan. 

(b) The government has received two proposals to build a bridge across the Rejang River and Upper Lanang from the private sector.
