Two years of prayer was answered when Cynthia Ubina arrived in October to start a campus ministry. Work has started at the University of Southeastern Philippines.

Nars Lozada, NDS member in Mindano

In the future, the team hopes to start a campus ministry at the University of the Philippines-Mindanao.

Time hinders most professionals from reaching out to students, so they adopted a bloom-where-ever-you-are-planted strategy. They call it Each One Reach One and focus on offices, the family and neighbors. Members identify and pray over people for opportunities to share the gospel.

They found small bible studies addressing a need works best with non-Christians. For instance, they were able to inject the gospel during a bible study for parents having troubles with children.

Last year, a couples bible study was started. Peding and Glo Camarao lead the group which meets twice a month.

The year culminated with a couples' retreat conducted by the Camaraos on December 26-27.

About ten couples attended.

The couples learned how to set one-year and long-term plans for their families.

Husbands and wives were encouraged to plan weekly activities together away from home. They were encouraged to help their children keep a prayer diary.

A savings program started in 1996 has a total of PI 7,000. Each member initially put in P30 a month. That requirement was later discontinued. Members borrow from the fund at four percent per annum. The program has earned about P3,000 in interest.

Tess Lozada continues to operate Abbas Child pre-school started two years ago. Two REACH members arc employed as teachers.
