On warm summer nights
when our gang gathered in neoned shadows
behind Rosie's Bar and Grill
our noses planted on the window sill
mesmerized by sinners slow dancing
to "That's the Glory of Love,"
I never dreamed that fifty years later
I'd remember and write about it
as if it happened
only yesterday.
