Loves Promise
In the beginning there were just two,
The young husband and wife.
Hand in hand starting down the road of life.
Loves promise, budding, blooming, making three
father, mother, daughter, a family.
Learning about life from day to day
sharing tears and laughter along the way.
After a while, along came another.
Father, mother, sister, brother.
Keeping loves promise through good times and bad,
sharing unselfishly all that they had.
The years quickly passed, the children grown
went to learn of loves promise through lives of their own.
Their daughter made them grandparents thrice,
great grandparents eight times, isn't that nice?
Their son follows his calling, round the globe he does roam.
Actor, teacher, peacemaker, we welcome him home.
Love's promise made in those early days
has been full filled in so many ways.
Today, hand in hand, husband and wife
celebrate sixty years sharing life.
Dear Mom & Dad,
You are loves promise tried and true.
Today we are here to honor you.
