Magical Items: A maul of the titans, a ring of human influence, a potion of rainbow hues (4 draughts), a potion of extra-healing, a crystal ring of spell turning, and a handglyph of power (disintegrate, 3 charges).

Combat/Tactics: Anyone coming within 20 yards of Scythe must make a successful saving throw vs. saving throws vs. petrification with a +2 bonus or become stricken with fear and fight with a -2 penalty to both their attack and damage rolls. In combat, there is no other dragon that has made itself known in the Realms with the damage potential as Scythe. His claws and bite inflict gruesome damage; he has a variety of spells, as he is a draconic Archetypal necromancer (as seen in the Complete Book of Necromancers). In melee combat, Scythe likes to use his maul in substitute of a normal claw attack. A strike from this massive weapon causes mass bludgeoning damage and usually kills its victim outright, smearing their remains amongst their companions.

As a black dragon, Scythe was born with an innate water breathing ability and an immunity to acid. And due to his age he can make use of the special abilities of darkness 60' radius thrice per day and corrupt water once a day. This corruption power can stagnate 60 cubic feet of water, making it become still, foul, inert, and unable to support animal life. When this ability is used against potions and elixirs, they become useless if they roll a 15 or better on 1d20.

Allies/Companions: Gyle and the rest of the Cult of the Dragon.

Foes/Enemies: All enemies of the Cult of the Dragon and anyone who gets in his path to power and glory (especially King Valkor Silvertree of the High Forest wild elves).

Appearance: Scythe is an enormous black dragon with six misshapen blood red claws on each foot. His voice is twisted and evil, sounding totally inhuman to all other beings. Furthermore, much like a wolf, Scythe howls at the moon and can be hurt by the slightest touch of gold. His spellbooks are extremely hard to decipher, as he both reads and writes backwards. He is cursed to kill a sentient creature once per week, and is surrounded by an aura of malevolence 10 radius.

Personality: Scythe is a great elder of the black dragon species, thus making him closer in relation to the draconic gods and far more powerful than a normal dragon of his age and race. Thus, he is very noble and proud, even to the point of thinking all other life forms being no better than lesser companions or his slaves. Scythe speaks the tongue of black dragons, a tongue common to all evil dragons, and he has the ability to communicate with any intelligent creature.

Experience (+10%): 457,195.

Experience For Next Level: 750,000.

Experience Value: 48,000.

Locales Frequented: All the known areas of Faern; however, he has of yet to leave the mainland for any great length of time, and has not actually set foot in most locations.

Motivations/Goals: Scythe is lying low a bit and biding his time. Once he achieves his full size and strength lichdom is his next step.

Campaign Uses: Scythe is one of the greatest dragons in the Realms by blood, he is a great elder, of nearly the blood of the draconic gods themselves. As a draconic necromancer, Scythe is a great archnemesis for any group, especially high level heroes, whom he will have no problem wreaking havok among and keeping all on their toes. He is the dark dragon, who instills fear in all, and makes everyone respect dragons and all their majesty.
