At the laboratory (where Mrs. Holmes serves as director) one of the last
existing ampoules of deadly poxviruses are stolen, with the note 'Science
Kills'. Mrs. Holmes finds herself a suspect, mainly also because the
doesn't want to tell her whereabouts between leaving the laboratory
and returning home. And she's not the only one having secrets, also
Mr. Holmes is full of them. This mystery-mongering doesn't do any
good to the Holmes' family life and Shirley suffers under this.
Nevertheless she investigates the robbery and tries to figure out why.

Shirley and Bo, as well as returned Matt, search for this Zeus who
heads Kaeon. To reach their goal they also have to turn to Prof.
Pauling and even Molly who's wanted by Kaeon for a top position.
While Shirley does her usual stuff, the rest of the students organize
a protest against the school and Kaeon to get back math. This puts
leaders Bo and Bart also on Keaon 'wanted'-list. Kidnapped by Kaeon
people they finally meet Caitlin, one part of the puzzle. Matt and
Shirley then figure out the main part of it ...

The Sussex Basketball Invitations are underway and like the games before
the Sussex Hornets simply can't win a game, mostly because of more or
less little incidents. When such an 'incident' causes Bo to injure his
anckle Shirley gets on the case. And finds clues supporting the idea the
team is not jinxed but rather sabotaged. But who? Ashley, the 'team's
groupie' could be behind it to get Kyle who mysteriously is the one
always spared. Or is it Kyle himself, to get an easy way out of the
team (Ms. Stratmann threatened to give up the school's basketball team
if it can't win) without angering his demanding mother. But this is no
option either when he quits the team anyway without the 'safety net' ...

Walking with Watson, Shirley discovers a skeleton on a field. Reporting
it, she gets suspicious when the coroner Dr. Lamb denies the presence of
a ring on the skeleton hand although she clearly knows there was one.
Trying to solve this puzzle she gets more and more the feeling that
Dr. Lamb - who's promisingly running for mayor - is hiding something
since she too openly tries to get her away from the case. Upon
discovering that she intentionally misidentified the skeleton there's
no hold for Shirley (then again, was there ever ?). Identifying the
skeleton herself she gets into a case of a murder which never was and
a big cover-up of an error which led to a wrong conviction.

Maurice, a Frenchman, is wooing Alicia and she's totally happy having a
boyfriend. Although there are no apparent signs, Shirley immediately
finds this fishy - although can't find anything else than that he's too
perfect. It gets completely suspicous when Alicia's also wanted by an
advertising agent. This agent however lets slip out a clue and Shirley
now knows that they all are only after Alicia's new ring. And Shirley
finds herself in a case of industry espionage ...

A popular series with teen star Doug Willis shoots at Sussex. Mysterious
accidents during stunts and death threats are after Doug - and Shirley
after the source: and there are some possible suspects. One down after
the stunt coordinator is fired, but Doug's manager Eddie, as well as the
cook or the female co-(no more)star. The threats want Doug to quit the
show, something he also wants desperately. But the contract and his
star-presence are against it.

Shirley receives and unsigned present - an orchid - with an unpleasant
surprise in it: a bee; which stings her, resulting in a collapse.
Shirley's body may be down, not so her mind who tries to find out
who's sending her this present: was it friend (and the bee just
a coincidence) or foe (and therefore a planned attack) ?

When at Bo's mother's dance hall, Shirley discovers Larisa, Bo's cousin
who's with the dance group, stealing an icon, which actually has value
only to Bo's parents. Getting this statue under her control, she and
Bo find out that something's hidden in it. Larisa only knows that she
should steal it for somebody. And this somebody probably is the spy
who brought Bo's parents into jail years ago in the Ukraine - and is
now with the group ...

Sociopath Molly no more sociopathic? There's something fishy concludes
Shirley and with Bo follows Molly - and discovers two things: first
Molly-2 - actually Elise - who as Molly's 'student' is a dead ringer
for her, and Foxglove, Molly's beloved(!) horse (Molly has a heart ?!?)
But Foxglove's fate is sealed when his strange behavior leads to only
one conclusion: rabies. Shirley and Bo however think that can't be true
and smell a revenge on Molly. This is proven right when they discover
that someone tampered with the lab report.

On the Eve of the Arthurian Festival, 'King Arthur' Mr. Howie jails
'Lady Genevieve' Ms. Stratmann, at least she thinks it was him. So he
finds himself arrested - and Shirley a new case. Although it apparently
really was Mr. Howie, and sometimes he isn't himself, he's King Arthur
- not just playing him. But could someone else just impersonate him
and load the blame on him? Clues are there, but no evidence.

Shirley's final case ... with Bo, who announces he will return to the
Ukraine to finish school there. And it's a reluctant case since Shirley
- or more precisely Bo - is forced into it. It's a Dragon game, with Bo
as kind of a lab rat: after a visit at the movies he finds a statue with
an 'order' attached; if he doesn't follow he'll get 'punished'. And
indeed when he dismisses this as a joke his bike suddenly was declared
stolen. So he follows the order to search a key. When he then refuses to
continue, his father is arrested. So there's nothing else than to
continue, with Shirley, to search for objects he's ordered to ...
