Iwanbou is the walking and laughing equivalent of Play-doh. He shows no sign of intelligence and seems to bounce around all over the place.

He is one of the Juppon Gatana that is sent along to the Oniwa Banshu restaurant to take care of the rest of Kenshin's friends and stop them from interfering with Shishio's plans to dominate Japan.

When he is attacked all of the weapons get stuck in his fat and simply bounce off making him almost totally invulnerable. He breaks out some finger knives and begins to inflict some serious damage on the Oniwa Banshu and seems to be pretty unstoppable. After the defeat of Henya and Kamatari he realizes he is alone so he laughs, scratches his head and bounces off on the rooftops of Kyoto. Basically he's a really weird bad guy.

On a side note, in the Manga there is someone inside Iwanbou controlling the body and there are actually 3 Iwanbou "shells!"
