The Founding of Nemedia

Nemedia was founded approximately 5,200 years ago by the Wardens of Light, in order to aid the peoples of the planets Earth and Draenaer. Draenaer orbited a sun that was releasing increasingly dangerous sunspots. Earth, as a result of a recent war, was rapidly losing its ability to support magic. The Wardens decided that it would be easier to move the magic-based inhabitants of both worlds to Nemedia at the same time, rather than try to find two different worlds.

Nemedia, named by one of the Wardens, was selected based on numerous criteria. The largest factors in its favor included its oxygen-based air content, its geological features, and the fact that it did not possess a sentient race.

The people of both worlds were relocated over a two-year period of time. The Wardens allowed the newly christened "Nemedians" to develop their own nations and governments. In most cases, this resulted in nations very similar to their original manifestation on their respected home worlds. One notable difference is that this open system of establishment encouraged a greater level of diversity within each nation.

After the relocation the infamous Wardens' War occurred. Many of you will have heard rumors of its occurrence on your own worlds. Rest assured: it did happen. The war left the people of Nemedia in a "dark age," forcing them to rediscover much of the ways of science and magic over a 5,000-year period.

Like other worlds, Nemedia has had its share of wars and revolutions. Yet its people have remained strong, and have surpassed the level of understanding possessed by their ancestors. While much of their history remains lost, they have striven to create their own legacy, joined by the common bond they all share, despite their differences, as immigrants to a new, wonderful world.
