Annual Celebrity Softball Tournament on Sunday July 31, 2005. If you

or someone you know is in a band and would like to participate, then

tournament are as follows:

* Entry Fee: $20 per person (minimum 10 players per team)

NATIONAL TEJANO MUSIC CONVENTION TO HOLD RECORD-SETTING

LATIN MUSIC EVENT IN LAS VEGAS

COUNTRY LEGEND FREDDY FENDER, TEJANO DIVAS TRIBUTE TO PIONEER LAURA CANALES

AND THE U.S. AIR FORCE THUNDERBIRDS HIGHLIGHT NATIONAL MEETING!

LAS VEGAS, NV – A record-setting 4,000 registered Tex-Mex music fans and industry representatives will participate in the 2005 National Tejano Music Convention & Vegas Revue presented by Countrywide Home Loans. The 2nd annual event, also sponsored by Southwest Airlines, Gibson Guitars, Coors Light, Crown Royal, Casino del Sol, and BNET Radio, is scheduled for August 12-14, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The convention serves as a “meeting ground” to convene the Tex-Mex music industry and its fan-base to discuss current issues, trends, and set forth a platform that will work towards the growth of the music. “The event continues to put ‘Tejano or Tex-Mex music’ on the national map as a musical genre having significant influence on the U.S. Hispanic Latin music scene,” said David Chavez, convention producer. “The artform has a tremendous grassroots following as evidenced by the convention becoming the largest Latin music convention in just its second year.”

Convention highlights include The 2005 Vegas Revue showcasing “the best of the best,”

21 top recording artists with historic performances in a Vegas-style extravaganza. Scheduled performers include five-time Grammy Award Winner and Conjunto pioneer Flaco Jimenez, three-time Grammy Award Winner Country artist Freddy Fender and Grammy Award Winners Rick Trevino, Max Baca & Los TexManiacs, Ruben Ramos & The Mexican Revolution, Emilio Navaira, Bob Gallarza & Friends and 2005 Grammy Award Winner accordionist Sunny Sauceda. Also performing are Tejano superstars Jay Perez, Joe Lopez, Chente Barrera, Eddie Gonzalez, Los Garcia Brothers, Jaime Y Los Chamacos, Alfonso Ramos, Adalberto, Joe Posada, and David Marez. Top female vocalists Shelly Lares, Stefani Montiel and Elida Reyna will join forces for the first time to pay tribute to Tejano pioneer Laura Canales who passed away this past April.Seminars for Tejano fans and event producers, as well as artists, and management will be presented. In addition, the “Tejano Experience” Fanfare Expo unites artists with their respective fan base. Members of the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, “Thunderbirds” will make a special appearance at the Expo. Also featured is the 1st annual Tejano Artist Silent Auction benefiting the Academy of Tejano Musicians, a San Antonio-based nonprofit. A conjunto master class series providing “tips of the trade” to enhance accordion and bajo sexto (12-string acoustic guitar) players skills will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m.

Conjunto was never an option for her, she knew she loved it and nothing else was going to satisfy her. She is now 17 years old and has always loved “El Si Señor del Acordion” Mister Ruben Naranjo. True to her love for Conjunto music she chose to pay tribute to Ruben Naranjo y Los Gamblers. This has really made a big hoop-la in San Antonio because Jo-Ann Y Sus LowRiders opened eyes and gain popularity. The voices are so paralleled to Ruben’s style that it sometimes freaks people out to hear them. Its like Ruben lives through Jo-Ann’s playing. This is truly a must see show. Take it from someone that has had 40 years experience in the music scene as a musician and songwriter. Jo-Ann is for real; Los Texas Wranglers and I wish her the best. Tejano Music Superstars, Jay Perez, Adalberto and Eddie Gonzalez will unite on Saturday November 27th to help provide food and toys for area youth and their families. All proceeds will be given to Holy Family Catholic Church in Stafford. The festivities will begin at 12:00pm until 4:00pm.

Fans who bring unwrapped toys and non-perishable foods will receive a chance for special door prizes. The artist will also be on hand to sign autographs take pictures and give away FREE posters with all that participate.

No purchase is necessary and all ages are welcome.

Prime Thyme Kookers will be there grilling the finest meats, so come and share the joys the holiday season with your friends from Tejano Music Headquarters and Prime Thyme Kookers.

The 1st Battle of the Conjuntos will include Austin's best Conjuntos The Legendary "El Montopolis Kid" Johnny Degollado y Su Conjunto vs. Bradley's Boyz the pride of Austin LOS PINKYS vs. Austin's Premier Conjunto Julian y Los Texas Wranglers. With this much music and so many years of experience it should be a blow-out. The Wrangler Hat Company will be giving 3 hats to some lucky folks and Budweiser will be handing out koosies and maybe the bud-girl will be there too.

Also on Saturday October 30th Tina y Los Gallitos (the Youngest Conjunto in America) will be performing with Los Texas Wranglers in Lockhart's Manny's Nite Club. It's sure to be a great night $5.00 pre-sale tickets are at Manny's only. Check out Austin's La Prensa newspaper for more information.
