Erasing Boo-Boos
by Cheryl Hansen
We have 3 sons, the youngest is 2. He is a typical boy, getting very adventurous & curious.
He loves playing outside, & doing normal boy things. But, one day I saw him with an eraser. It was a pencil eraser. He saw his brothers use it before several times on paper, however one day he decided to use it in quite a unique way.
See earlier that day he took a tumble, & hurt himself on the leg. After loves & kisses, it felt a little better, but the scrapes will be there for a few days longer. I told him that God would heal them very soon, & in the mean time we will put this medicine on it & they will be all gone in a few days. Well, he took this eraser, & starting rubbing his "boo-boos" with it in an up & down motion on his leg. I watched him for a little while, as my curiosity got the best of me too. He was getting a little upset so I asked him what he was doing. He said "erasing my boo boos"
I tried to keep from laughing as I thought this was so cute, I again explained God is healing it, so every day he saw the ouchie begin to heal. Today was funny, in that he was so excited, he said Mommy, God erased my boo boo!!!!
To little eyes the things we take for granted are seen so differently. I love to see it their way. May our eyes be as calm & as excited when new things unfold for our lives.
