Treasured Moments
by Cheryl Hansen
It was a Friday morning. A moment I had to give in, see we are a home school family. After 4 days of waking up sick & having school anyway, the day came where I thought I should give them a day off. Every time I spoke a word, I coughed, & coughed. So I told them, & boy did I get a reaction I was not expecting.
I heard our 5 & 4 year old talking, as if to be sad. So as our usual thing, we talked about their feelings. Why were they sad? Usually kids are happy over the announcement of no school.
Our 4 year old is the "spokesman" :) He said Mommy can we at least do Bible Time, so God would not be sad? I was so humbled by this. How could I refuse? Of course I said, then we had our Quiet time with God.
I was able to get thru, in fact I felt like God's presence as if to say, you are not going to cough thru this. It was amazing.
The other amazing thing is that our kids were actually listening to me. It is our prayer they grow to be Christian men. They are so on fire for God right now I feel so blessed.
It is never too early to start the Quiet times with God, it has been a wonderful blessing to our home.
