CAVE OF THE MOUNDS, near Blue Mounds. A natural wonder discovered in 1939, noted for its variety of brilliantly colored formations.
FIRST CAPITOL STATE PARK, northwest of Belmont. Restored buildings of the first terrirorial legislative meeting in 1836.
KETTLE MORAINE STATE FOREST PARK, one section north of West Bend, the second near Whitewater. Curious glacial hills(moraines) and depressions (kettles) attract hikers and campers, and there are lakes with boarding and swimming facilities.
LOST DAUPHIN STATE PARK, southwest of De Pere, Site of homestead of Eleazer Williams, thought to be LouisXVII, last French dauphin.
MILWAUKEE COUNTY WAR MEMORIAL CENTER, in Milwaukee's Janeau Park. Impressive modern building contains the Milwaukee Art Center, which presents changing exhibits.
MILWAUKEE COUNTY ZOO, Milwaukee. On of the largest and most complete animal collections in the country.
VILA LOUIS, northwest of Prairie du Chein. A mansion built in 1843 in the heyday of the fur trade. Many of the original furnishings preserved.
