Wildlife in Wisconsin
The great herds of bison that used to roam the plains and prairies of Wisconsin
are now gone. But we have a wide variety of wildlife. The picture below
shows one of them.
Some of the others include: coyote, red prairie fox, porcupine, chipmunk,
woodchuck, skunk, snowshoe rabbit, bog, lemming bat, and badger.
We also lie in the path of migrating birds. There are many virieties of
ducks and geese. We also have numerous types of fish in the Mississippi
and other bodies of water in and around the state. Snakes, frogs, and turtles
are bountiful. We have plenty of red squirrels in our yard. The walnut trees
are a great feeding place for them.*S*
