 CENTENARY CELEBRATIONSReal Madrid celebrates their 100th Birthday on the 6th of March 2002, with the whole world bowing in respect of the greatest club ever! Centenary jersey's Below are the program that Real Madrid has said will happen true out the end of 2001 and in year 2002. The celebrations have several cruzial and important events: # A game in the honour of Alfredo di Stefano, the greatest player ever and in many opinions a better player than Maradona and Pele put togheter, atleast on the club level scene. Rumour has it that several supporters wants a homenage for Gento and Puskasas well. Gento for being the player that has won the most Champions trophy's of them all, having won 6 medals. # One game date to be put up for Real Madrid to play a world team, this date will be a date that all football stops on the whole planet, to watch Real Madrid play. # A book will be published about Real Madrid, title "100 years with Real Madrid" or 100 year legend". December 2001: Putting up a Christmas tree Presentation of the centanary celebration. January 2002 Madrid 2012 Trophy (Real Madrid 3-2 Atletico Madrid) Real Madrid Museum to open Real Madrid park to open February 2002 March 2002 Big party (6th of March) including the Copa del Rey Final against La Coruna at Santiago Bernabeu International indoor football tournament Presentation of a moving Museum April 2002 26th to 28th: 4 nation indoor fotball tournament (China, Egypt, Spain and maybe Brazil) Marathon Contest in literature, paint and photograpy May 2002 Catwalk/fashion show 7th of May: Real Madrid - Japan in honour of "Don" Alfredo di Stefano Football match in honour of football June 2002 World tribute to the basket ball team (Magic Johnson to participate). Spanish concert (I believe it is only Spanish musicians). July 2002 Latin concert Golf Tournament August 2002 Plácido Domingo concert Santiago Bernabeu trophy (Centenary torunament - tribute to Santiago Bernabéu Tennis matches/competiton September 2002 Final lap of the Spanish cycle tournament to go around Santiago Bernabeu stadium. Sports medicine congress October 2002 November 2002 Tribute match to be held in New York (Tribute to Hispanic people in the US.) December 2002 Tribute match in honour of Real Madrid (a day with one match only in the whole world) Christmas tournament. Party to mark the end of the centenary celebrations. |
