Comments:
Real Madrid's game from beginning till the end, giving Real Madrid 8 trophy's in the competition, Morientes opened with an assists from the always hard working Salgado, Macca scored on an acrobatic effort in the 66 min and Raul scored on a counter attack in the 75 min. Only Canizares avoided a larger win for Real Madrid, apart from him and Mendieta the surprise finalist Valencia looked totally out of place in the final with the mighty Real Madrid. Redondo, Salgado, Macca and Raul provided the little extra in this game which seemed so easy to win for Real Madrid.

Sanchis beat Gento's record for the Real player to have played in most European/CL games, 100 matches is the new record held by Sanchis.

Hierro came on later in the game after being troubled by injury for most of the stage 2 and up until the finals, Del Bosque opted for the safe sollution with Helguera, Karanka and Campo in the central defence.

Man of the Match
Redondo for being the backbone in the midfield with his defensive skills and passing. Macca should also be mentioned for working hard and having a very good passing game as well. Salgado has shown that he is one of the best right defenders in the world, and worked hard for the 1-0 goal to Morientes by never giving up on the ball.
