Sherry is the daughter of William and Annette Birkin. She is a very insecure 12-year-old girl. You meet Sherry while playing as Claire. She runs from her at first, but after a while, Sherry and Claire, become like friends. Sherry really cares about Claire, and kind of even considers Claire more as a mother to her, than her real mom Annette. Sherry has been pretty much ignored and abandoned throughout her life, because of her mother and father's work. They haven't had much time to spend with Sherry, although they still love her very much. Sherry is pretty mature for her age, and is, for the most part, able to take care of herself. You get to play as Sherry a couple of times throughout Resident Evil 2. Sherry is slow though, and is also pretty weak. When you play as her, the only items you get are a First-Aid Spray, and a picture of her with her mother and father, Annette and William. Although you can pick up some other important items for Claire. Sherry is very vulnerable though, as she can't attack, and thus must run away from danger. During the game, Sherry will follow Claire on numerous occations, although she also goes alone a couple of times. But she always manages to find her way back to Claire. During Claire's scenerios, Sherry gets pulled down a sewer drain, while with Claire. You then take control of her for a while, and she falls through some trash at the top floor of a dump in the basement. William then finds her and implants her with an embryo. Sherry then, after meeting up with Claire, faints, after complaining about her stomach hurting. You then, as Claire, have to search for an antidote for Sherry. In the end, everything turns out alright, and Claire gives Sherry the antidote, which heals her. If your playing as Leon, you don't really meet Sherry that much. You only meet her when you see her running from you, and near the end of his second scenerio when you have to go get Sherry out of the room Claire leaves her in. You also see her at the end of the game. Throughout the game, William, having become a monster from taking the G-Virus, hunts Sherry down, and tries to impregnate her with an embryo. But as I said above, Claire heals her with the G-Virus antidote, codenamed DEVIL. Sherry is a big part of Resident Evil 2, and plays a vital role throughout the game.
