The family spends their holidays on Hawaii, but it's not the fun
parade everybody - and especially Jason - thought it would be.
Stranded with a broken boat Jason learns that the decision to go
to Maui instead of Florida was schemed by Mike, Maggie works all
night for an article (and neglects him) and Carol was a victim of
Mike's plan. For Mike, his goals are reached when he meets Melia, a
native guide. Carol, too, meets a nice guy who's working at the hotel.

has one, too, and Carol likes dancing with Boner. That's something
Mike on one side and Debbie and Shelley on the other really doesn't
like to see. Then when a lumbago stops 'The Wailin' Wailer', the D.J.,
Maggie steps in for him. Ben and Stinky also go out seeking an
adventure - finding a secret place.

As his contract runs out with the end of the semester, Coach Lubbock
faces an unknown future. Mike, who has found out that the Coach 'has
a life outside school', learns that the Coach gets fired. So he decides
to help him, with the help of Carol. Together they collect signatures
and, after this attempt has failed, they organize a sit-in at the
school. And Maggie's the one who has to report live from Dewey High ...

mad at Mike, Elisabeth and Maggie arrange a meeting of both families
which has the desired result: The coach has overcome his crisis and
announces that he will accept the only job as teacher he found ...
in a school in Eureka, California.
