071 [4.01-88] Fool for Love / Eine Art Rendezvous

    Vito throws a Halloween-party, with pairs allowed only. So Ben's in
    need of a partner. He asks out Jenny - a good friend with whom he and
    the boys often hang around - and she accepts, although for her, as well
    as Ben, it's not meant to be a 'date'. Maggie's mood swings try Jason
    and also put him in embarrassing situations.

072 [4.02-88] Birth of a Seaver / Nachwuchs

    Exactly on Ben's birthday Maggie goes into labor. The continuing talk
    about the baby, being neglected right on (what should be) his day and,
    when the baby is here, he won't be the youngest family member any more,
    really bothers Ben. In the hospital he soon seperates from the others
    and meets a patient, a former barkeeper, with whom he talks. Maggie
    gives birth to a girl who they name Chrissy, after Ben's friend.
    [Note: Other name suggestions for the baby: Irma (Jason), Sophie
     (Maggie) and Appolonia (of course by a puckish Mike)]

073 [4.03-88] Family Ties (1) / Der verlorene Sohn (1)

    A ski trip to Lake Placid instead of attending courses (which have
    been postponed anyway) results in a fight between Mike and his parents.
    When Jason uses the 'our house - our rules' speech, Mike knows what
    he has to do to keep (or get) his freedom: He moves out ... and into
    his car. Both, Mike and Jason, try their (unsuccessful) schemes and,
    finally, they even manage to reach an agreement.

    Mike moves into the room over the garage and pays a rent - this should

    it's up to Maggie to settle this dispute once for all.

    has worked - she returns with Wally, her new boyfriend and soon-to-be
    husband! This is something Jason, who was really close to his dad,

    Carol, among four other beauties, is chosen for homecoming court. But
    this, however, is a real shock for Carol as she sees herself neither
    worthy to take part in this happening nor that, in her opinion, one
    person can be a genius as well as a beauty. It takes some effort by
    the others to give her the self-esteem necessary not to resign.

    set up the party and get the parents, with a free dinner, out of the
    house. But the parents return too early ...

    Jason soon finds someone: the attractive, 19-years-old Julie Costello.
    The kids and Jason are extremely satisfied with her, but not so Maggie
    who demands Jason should fire her. But he insists she shall stay ...

    Maggie has planned a weekend trip to Martha's Vineyard. Also along
    comes Julie to take care of the baby. As they anyway need two cars
    Mike and Julie, with Chrissy, start earlier. But the others get lost
    on their way and miss the last ferryboat. So Mike and Julie are
    together alone for the night.

    turns to Mike for an excuse. His - though puckishly meant - excuse
    works. On the following day she calls Sandy and invites him for the
    evening when her parents are out. But Maggie and Jason return earlier
    as expected ...

    After receiving horrible grades (while Mike closely made the race)
    Boner's decision is certain: He wants to join the Marines. For Mike
    this are shocking news - which finally end in a fight with Boner -
    but Boner's parents are quite proud of their son. And Boner is now
    the second person, after Jason, who talks about planning the future -
    which gives Mike mind-food ...

    come by to organize, with the help of the kids, a surprise party.
    While Kate and Ed are out with the parents, Mike, Carol and Ben
    arrange everything for their return. And when they return Maggie
    and Jason are totally stunned. But it doesn't take long until the
    guests starts to bicker and the party gets out of control.

    Mike, tired of his old job takes on a new (with Ben's help) at the
    supermarket. As starter, he gets the graveyard shift. Maggie opposes
    and wants Mike to ask the manager for some other shift - and the
    manager schedules him for day shift right away. Mike, confused, wants
    to know why he is favored - the manager's answer: because he's white ...

    Violating the Seaver-Rules, Ben and Carol must stand a 'trial'.
    Although both did quite the same offense (sneaking out of the house
    and going on a date), Jason punishes them dissimilarly with Carol
    getting grounded for a month and Ben getting nearly nothing. Carol's
    'appeal' - with the argument her dad is a sexist - goes through and
    now Carol and Ben are again on trial with Maggie as the judge - this
    time Ben gets the severer punishment while Carol goes unpunished ...

088 [4.18-89] The Recruiter / Guten Tag, wer sind Sie ?

    Jason and Maggie want to see Carol attending their alma mater, Boston
    College. As Carol doesn't want to go to Boston but also doesn't dare
    to tell her parents she tries to flunk the interview. To succeed with
    this plan Mike hires someone from the street to play her dad during the
    interview with the BC representative.

089 [4.19-89] Show Ninety -- Who Knew? / Experten unter sich

    Although he worked hard Mike got only a C- on his latest psychology
    test. He asks his dad for help. Mike has another chance to improve
    the grade with the correction of the test. He prepares the paper,
    but Jason is not really satisfied with the answers and, unseen by
    Mike, changes the answers to what he thinks is right ... and Mike
    gets a D! Now Jason even pays a visit to Mike's professor ...

    Carol and Sandy are again out an evening. After a wonderful time
    together Sandy asks 'his girlfriend' out for dinner the following
    night. But on the next day Sandy doesn't call. Much later, a call
    comes in but it's Doug, Sandy's friend, telling Carol that Sandy
    had a drinking-and-driving accident last night and is, seriously
    wounded, in the hospital.

091 [4.21-89] The Loooove Boat (1) / Das Alptraumschiff (1)

    Wally and Irma want to get married on the same ship they had met for
    the first time and invite all to a cruise; Julie also comes along.
    Jason's antipathy for Wally soon starts to spoil the cruise when he
    wants his mom to put on a marriage contract and then even jeopardizes
    the upcoming wedding. Twenty female Swedish (and blonde!) athletes
    are the reason for Ben being in heaven and Mike landing in hell, after
    he has forgotten a date with Julie and she finds him amongst the girls.

    Mike, frustrated about the break-up talks with his dad, who eventually
    realizes what he has done wrong and how he could save the wedding: he
    apologizes to his mom and gives her his blessing. Mike and Julie also
    find together again and Mike doesn't only tell his family about his
    relationship with Julie but also proposes to her.
