Killed by a drunk
driver!
The
following was taken from
the
1991 Yearbook page in Memory of Jai
Jeremiah,
known by his friends as "Jai" was a first grader who showed excellent behavior
in class, but could also enjoy clowning around. Phoebe and Jai enjoyed
a special friendship, and seldom was one seen without the other.
Here's some memories about Jai:
Joey
Hopkins said, "Jai was a funny kid although he was a prayer warrior.
Every time he said I'll pray for you."
Chad
Scheler said , "I miss Jai, I liked playing with Jai and his fire trucks,
I liked going to Jai's house. I played with Jai at school and we
had fun together. Jai always knew his verses for school. I
miss Jai."
Mrs.
Wetmore said, "Jai tried very hard to please his teacher, but of course
his dad came first. Hew was concerned for the unsaved and remembered
to pray for them."
John
Hopkins said, "He was a nice boy, I can remember wrestling with him.
He would always be nice to me. I never saw him without his dad, he
made me think more about my dad."
Dr.
Andy Sayre said at the memorial service; "He loved his fire trucks, didn't
he? He loved people too, just like his dad. He stuck right
with his dad."
Jai
with his sister Kezia on his 7th birthday!
The
next day on the way to a Christian concert the car he was in was hit by
a drunk driver! There was never any response that night from Jai,
and the following day, he was declared brain dead :(
Jai
never got to spend his birthday money or play with his new toys.
He never got past the first few weeks of 1st grade. So much was taken
from him and he was taken from the one's that loved him... all because
of a bad decision that someone made, and no one tried to stop him!
