The
Courage to Come Back is a program of St. Francis Health Foundation
in Pittsburgh, PA. The campaign honors individuals who have
suffered from a devastating accident, illness, injury or personal economic
misfortune. In their recovery they have so demonstrated their courage
that their peers have nominated them as models of hope for others.

The
Award: For being chosen as the 1999 Courage to Comeback Pittsburgh
Penguin Youth Awardee, MaryLyn attended a dinner at the Sheraton in Pittsburgh
in April, 1999, where she and 5 other awardees were recognized.
Before the dinner, St. Francis Health Foundation sent out a camera crew to put
together a 4-5 minute biography that would be shown on a large screen projector
at the dinner before she received her award. So one winter day Mary
was able to have the time of her life being photographed, even in her
school. That night Mary received a trophy, medallion, ring, and a
cash award. February 9, 2000, Mary attended the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey game where she was recognized before the game and had her picture taken with Jagr and Straka!
I'll be sure to post the professional picture on here, so look for it in a few weeks!
