Per-Erik Lindbergh, known as "Pelle" was from Stockholm, Sweden. He came to the United States to play hockey and was goaltender for the Philadelphia Flyers from 1981 until his death in 1985. He was 5'9", 160 pounds, and in the few years he had to play hockey he proved to be an incredible goalie.
Pelle Lindbergh died November 13, 1985 after driving his Porshe at a high rate of speed into a wall. He was driving under the influence of alcohol. Drunk Driving is among the #1 killers today... but, people still continue to drink and drive. PLEASE in memory of Pelle Lindbergh... enjoy your hockey games... but

He won the Vezina Trophy in 1985
Pelle accomplished a lot in his short 5 years in the NHL... just think what he could've accomplished had he not made a wrong decision... Don't make the same mistake that Pelle did... Don't Drink and Drive and Don't let your Friends Drink and Drive! In 1997 I had a hard time finding any information on Pelle and what I did find on the internet was on "The Goaltender Homepage" by Doug Norris. Since then, a number of Pelle
pages are coming up on the internet... Pelle deserves to be remembered,
and instead of taking stuff from each page, I am going to list the sites
here and I hope you will visit each of them and remember him if you knew
him.... and get to know him if you didn't ever have that chance.
