Born To Be Wild

Wildebeest was born on the plains of Africa. His mum Susan died during childbirth and his father had been eaten by a group of lionesses called Wendy, Fiona, and Kerri a month before. These tragic events meant Wildebeest grew up the tough way, on his own.

The wildebeests of Africa were, and are, an impoverished race of beings. They were a primitive tribe who had not ever met the civilised world. The elders of the village knew that Wildebeest was special. By the age of 3 he had already defeated many fierce predators, mainly dogs of war, using a technique known as a Fame Asser he had learnt from watching the WWF.

His drive to be the ultimate fighting machine was fueled by his hatred of the lions, and as a result Wildebeest did little else other than training and perfecting combat techniques during his childhood. His diet consisted largely of curry, kebab and lager. His reasons for this was his realisation that this type of diet created such potent bad breath that he could kill any living creature that wasn't prepared in to deal with it in advance. The technique was nicknamed Death Breath, by the lions who learned to live in fear of it. Wildebeest then decided to patent the move to stop would be imitators from copying him.

For a while Wildebeest lived the life of a lion terminator in revenge for his father's death, and a prize fighter in his spare time to pay the bills (by now he had moved to a nearby city). His life was changed irreversibly though when he met a creature who called himself Hawk.

Hawk saw that Wildebeest possessed the qualities to become a legendary Scope Knight but his training was too dangerous while he still held feelings of bitterness and revenge towards all lions. Hawk took Wildebeest on an intensive course of soul searching and meditation until all his negative energy and negative forces had been destroyed and eradicated, leaving way for the Scope Force to work its will.

After basic training Hawk enrolled Wildebeest at the training academy of Wolverine where he completed his training and passed his Scope tests with honour and distinction to become a fully fledged Scope Knight and member of the Red Helmets.

EDITORS NOTE : Wildebeest was voted "Scope Knight of the Year 2000" recently, and is now married to a frog called Gertrude.
