Nintendo and Rare have joined forces to create the next game in the Star Fox Saga, Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet.
You may remember a game from Rare that was supposed to come out for Nintendo 64 simply called, Dinosaur Planet. Well, it was delayed and delayed until finally it dissappeared, and resurfaced at E3 2001 as Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet. And moved from Nintendo 64 to GameCube.
The game remains just about the same, except now it stars Fox McCloud and the whole Star Fox team instead of the two dinosaurs you were supposed have control over in the original Dinosaur Planet.
Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet takes place six years after Star Fox 64. All Fox McCloud's old friends are here in new roles. Slippy, in Weapon Tech Development, supplying Fox with the latest gadgets and equipment. Peppy in Mission Support to help give you directions and help you find your way around. And Rob the Robot supervising the mission in case you need extra supplies. Falco was last seen jetting off in persuit of a glamorous solo career . . .
Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet is an Action Adventure game similar in style to the Zelda games.
You control Fox McCloud. Who now has a mystical new staff (That looks awesome by the way) that he can use to do a variety of things. It will even get upgrades and new abilities as you progress thoughout the game. The staff can be used to lift things (Such as rocks and stuff), to fight enemies with, to fling you to high up places, among other things.
There will also be new Star Fox 64 esque flying sequences.
Fox also now has a sidekick named Prince Tricky. It's unknown exactly what he's for, but we do know you can issue him certain commands and have him do stuff for you. The character Krystal from the original Dinosaur Planet (The game they were going to make for N64), is now a mysterious female character that gets captured by an ancient force known only as the Krazoa.
The plot of Star Fox Adventures revolves around the Dinosaur Planet and an evil ruler called General Scales, who's trying to take over or destroy the Dinosaur Planet. And you're there to save it.

Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet has been pushed back to some time in 2002.
