Gateway
The technical meaning is a hardware or software set-up that translates between two dissimilar protocols, for example Prodigy has a gateway that translates between its internal, proprietary e-mail format and Internet e-mail format. Another, sloppier meaning of gateway is to describe any mechanism for providing access to another system, e.g. AOL might be called a gateway to the Internet.

Defines a standard setup for MIDI files, including channel settings, instrument patch settings ,and key assignments.
GIF
Graphics Interchange Format. A graphics file format that originated on the CompuServe network. Most client programs that include graphics support GIF, for example, GIF is the standard file format for graphics files on the World Wide Web. Gopher
This popular protocol lets clients retrieve Internet resources.
The Gopher protocol lets you access flies and directories across the Internet. A Gopher client can search and retrieve information from hundreds of gopher servers on the Internet to give the user a seamless view of the distributed information.

Graphics mode
The mode that enables applications to display images in addition to text, Windows applications always run in graphics mode.
Graphics resolution
The level of quality at which applications print graphics. The higher the resolution the better the quality of the printed graphics. Higher-resolution graphics take longer to print and use more disk space. A resolution of 72 Is good for .GIF and .JPG most of the time.
