RAM
Random Access Memory. The working memory of the computer into which application programs are loaded and executed. All data in RAM is lost when you turn your computer off.
RAM drive
A portion of memory that is used as if it were a hard drive. RAM drives are much faster than hard drives because your computer can read information faster from memory than from a hard drive. However, all information on a RAM drive is lost when you turn your computer off. AKA Virtual drive.

Resolution
The number of pixels that appear on a display screen. The higher the number of pixels the better the resolution. Standard VGA resolution is 640 pixels X 480 pixels.
Response time
The measurement of the time it takes for an information request to be made and fulfilled.
RFC
Request for Comments, there are the agreed upon standards with which
all methods of communicating over the Internet are define.
RGB triplet
The red, green, and blue values that specify a colour. In HTML, RGB triplets are specified by a pound sign and the hexadecimal value for red, green, and blue. RGB triplet consist of six hexadecimal numbers. For example, #40e0d0 is the hexadecimal RGB triplet for the colour turquoise.
Rich text format (RTF)
A format for text documents that includes formatting attributes, such as different fonts and typefaces.

ROM
Read only memory. Memory that can be read, but not modified. The contents of this memory is retained even when the computer is turned off.

A special-purpose computer (or software package) that handles the connection
between 2 or more Networks. Routers spend all their
time looking at the destination addresses of the packets passing
through them and deciding which route to send them on.
RTF
Rich Text Format. A text file that includes some formatting. such as bold, italic, and underlined text.
