Object
In the context of object linking and embedding, information such as a Graphic, chart, or sound file that can be linked to or embedded into another document. See link and embed

Objects
In programming terminology, A freestanding chunk of code that defines the properties of something. Java applets are objects that contain scrolling list objects, URL objects, button objects, and window objects, etc. Not all languages use this object style. This type of languages are referred to as object oriented.

Object linking and embedding
(OLE) A way to transfer and share information between applications.

Object Oriented Programming
A method of computer programming in which independent pieces of code are built to interact with each other. Java & c++ are object oriented programming languages.

OC-3
A fiber optic line capable of 155 mbps. (155,000K).

OC-48
A fiber optic line capable of 2400 mbps (2,400,000K).

Offline
Not connected to a computer network or the Internet.

One-link wonder
A Web page that contains only a single useful link.

Online service
A company that provides Internet access or provides e-mail, discussion forums, and Web space.

Operating system
The programming responsible for basic hardware resources on a computer such as keyboard, monitor, drives, memory, and CPU time. For example UNIX & DOS.Yahoo,s Operating Systems Page.
