~Craters~

Solitude and loneliness
Cannot brothers be.
The first, a flower blooming
In the desert;
The last, a husk...
Where lightning struck a tree.

One can be lonely
In a room full of faces
But to be solitary means
Avoiding these places.

Aloneness will always
Involve some kind of pain
Solitude does not...
A bird can sing in the rain.

Solitude is a
Matter of choice,
Where you comb
Your hair of feelings,
Parting the old from the new...

It makes you feel tranquil
Giving you something to do.

Loneliness is life's craters
Hidden on the dark side
From the sun of one's self.
Solitude is reflection;
A "sea of tranquility"...
Feeling joy in stealth.

In solitude
You can orbit your life
And feel the ebb and flow
Of its tides.
Reflecting the light of remembrance,
Where a lost
Yearning resides.

When your life
Reflects backward,
Putting your soul in eclipse...
Therein lies loneliness
An orb of darkness--
A kiss without lips.
