~Autumn's Sigh~
Leaves shimmered
In the lonely
Moon light.
A whisper within
Beckoned me to listen
To small wings in flight.
The gentle breath
Of autumn
Made branches
Move to Its
Ancient sigh.
Puppet strings
Pulled them up
Against the night sky.
There was no way
To find fault with
This day.
The restful glimmer
Of starlight agreed.
As each leaf fell,
I watched in delight.
I felt spirits swell
To engulf the night.
Over and over,
From snow fields
Through clover
I wait
For autumn's sigh.
And with Its
Arrival
Leaves tremble
For their survival...
Only the trees know why.
