~Fallen Leaves~

In a way,
Fallen leaves remind me
Of all the memories
We had but now
Cannot reach...
All that beauty
Lying at our feet,
Soon to be carried
By the wind to the street.

Making way for
A new season of events,
Our branches inch forward,
Bearing the starkness
Of time's fingerprints.

When I hear
All those wind-tossed leaves
Singing quietly
On the street,
I realize leaves are
Where old memories go
For spiritual retreat.
