Freedom
To wander
Without structure
In blissful
Disregard to time.
Raindrops
Scattered like
Milkweed
In the wind;
Creatures that
Have no need
To pretend.
The way
Breezes
Play tag
With flowers;
And how cats
Nap in the sun
For hours.
Clouds that
Whisper by
In fields of blue;
Grass that glistens
Like diamonds
From sun greeting
Morning dew.
To sleep
With wind
Caressing your hair...
Not a worry in sight,
No problems
Anywhere.
Freedom
Could be an illusion,
Or at least
An altered state
Of mind.
But those who can
Sustain it
Know what to keep
And what to leave
Behind.
