MICK'S PICK - 16th LAST YEAR - 13th
MICK'S COMMENTS - 1999 could be the swansong for the Mighty Tigers of Balmain. They are in grave danger of being dropped for the new millenium and they will have a tough season proving to the NRL that they deserve a spot in 2000. They have bought a few quality players in Craig Hancock, Haumono and Lowrie to beef up their chances, but their downfall may prove to be injuries. A lack of backup for their top shelf players will be critical. Pearce will be out during the season with Origin duties and this won't help an already struggling club. It looks like a long year for the Tigers, but for all their fans that might be a good thing, because it could be their last.
