Thanatosis
Thanatosis--Practitioners of this Discipline are obsessed with the appearance od death, and generally find themselves shunned by all but the most twisted of Kindred.
Level 1--Hags' Wrinkles (expanding or contracting your skin) This ability allows the character to change both his general appearance and his apparent age. Used in conjunction with Obfuscate or Vicissitude, this ability reduces by one the difficulty to alter appearance. This ability can also be used to create "pockets" of flesh.
System: This power requires the expenditure of one Blood Point.
Level 2--Putrefaction (induce decomposition in an opponent) Rapid movement increases the speed of Futrefaction until pieces of flesh and hair being to fall off. These penalities increase every turn the afflicted character is active. The only way to prevent these atrocious losses it to sease activity.
System: The character first declares how many Blood Points are to be spent, and then rolls Dexterity+Occult (difficulty of the target's Stamina+Fortitude). For every success, and every Blood Point spent, the opponent loses one point of Appearance. In addition, if the target continues to move or takes an active role in a combat situation, she will suffer the worst effects of the Putrefaction. Because the rapid and painful decomposition of the flesh, the target must add one to the difficulty of all Physical and Social rolls. One full day's rest nullifies this penalty.
Level 3--Ashes to Ashes (transforming into a heavey, powdery substance, enabling her to avoid being burned by fire or sunlight)
System: With the expenditure of two Blood Points, the character can be reforemd, but only with the assistance of a Retainer or friend. This form is unnaffected by winds or even by heavy rains, but can be separated by force. Reformation after being separated is at best painful, because parts of the Kindred will be missing. More than one Samedi has met Final Death as a result of carelessness on the part of a loyal but stupid Retainer.
Level 4--Withering ("mummifying" an opponent one limb at a time) Witherd limbs return to normal after one night, provided the target is of supernatural origin. If this power is employed against kine, the effect is permanent and gangrenous.
System: Withering requires the character to touch the body part to be effected. He must then score a number of successes on a Manipulation+Medicine roll equal to the target's Stamina (difficulty of the opponenet's Willpower) and expend one Willpower point. Use of this ability on the head of an opponent is instantly fatal to kine, and will drop a Kindred opponent into a state resembling torpor for the night; the target is not actually in torpor, but is unable to use any Disciplines at all while suffering from a shrunken head.
Level 5--Compress (shrinking opponents skin to the point of rupturing and exploding off the target)
System: Expend 3 Blood Points. This does four Health Levels of aggravated damage. Targets with Fortitude can resist this power with a soak roll. If the attack is successful, the compressor can then "absorb" the skin into her own body, adding three dots to Stamina for the remainder of the night. The additional Stamina may only be gained by taking one turn to hold the remaining skin and expending an additional Blood point.
