AMBITIONS:
GENERAL PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION: Quietly spoken enthusiasm for everything - he has an all pervasive need to know about everything and is the ultimate observer. He has the ability to listen forever and is fascinated by stories and especially by the unusual or the unexpected. He's patient, friendly and a learner who is quite a commentator - if his wry observations aren't considered outright funny, they are at the least entertaining. He doesn't anger easily, and is highly intelligent. HOBBIES/RECREATION:
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Average Terran height, looks almost prepubescent compared to Terrans of a like age; he's so underdeveloped appearing, though this is common amongst his people. He is just as strong as almost any Terran Starfleet officer owing to a different system of musculature. No hair, and with a series of indents along the crest of his skull - no ears, but has three slits at either side of his head. Copper tattoos (called "glorinillil") cover his left hand and up his left arm. Amber eyes without pupils. Soft, near whispered tones. (Milk coffee skin, large amber eyes without pupils.) (5'7") WHY CHARACTER JOINED STARFLEET: To learn everything he can. PERSONAL HISTORY: He always knew he'd join Starfleet as soon as he came of age, and no sooner had his glorinillil healed, he applied to the Academy. He worked hard, though he was often the brunt of jokes from the other cadets owing to his inability to socialize in some of the ways most other species can. He was desperate to learn about the others, so was given to much study and became an observer, even managing to gather a few "followers" who were amused by his observances. He worked his way to Lieutenant through various postings, and was allocated a berth on the Fairburn as a Stellarcartography specialist, but was quickly moved to the Bridge Liaison position after Commander Randall saw how well he got Sciences running. FAMILY DETAILS:
FAMILY HISTORY: Jedera is the second child of his mother, and the first to his father. Ralexim are naturally attracted towards older people in their youth, when they need to learn the necessary rituals for procreation, and to younger people when they are older, to teach them what they need to know. Lifetime bondings are unusual amongst Ralexim. Generally Ralexim only have two children per lifetime, though they may make arrangements to have children for barren couples, or to replace a person who died before they could "replace themselves". His father is old now, and lives in the Hub of Jedera City with the majority of his generation. His "sister" is a technician, and his "brother" has not yet attained his basic glorinillil, as he is underage. SECRETS IN BACKGROUND?: FUTURE MILESTONES?:
DETAIL RELATIONSHIPS WITH: Susan Randall: He sees her as a true Captain, and aspires to be like her, for he feels the affection and protectiveness she feels for the crew is right. He admires her. James Grieg: Through example, Grieg teaches him that one doesn't need to be loud to be in command; that command is authority, not just voice. They are somewhat similar in outlook, and in time Jedera will give Grieg the honorary title of Ralexim. K’Teira: He respects how much she has given up to follow her ideals, and how she manages to remain Klingon in the face of all the Federation problems she deals with. He wonders at her staying true to her interpretation of Klingonhood. He has a great deal of affection for her, and is proud to call her friend. Eden Pendehar: He wouldn't see Eden very much except in Sickbay, but he believes in Eden's quest for the end of suffering. He is glad he was the one who rescued the Doctor from the Kingston. Rell: He would listen to him for hours if he could. Elek: She's another example of someone living apart from her culture which he can relate to. Of course, he doesn't know the full story, but Elek as a "Vulcan" intrigues him without the rest of her story. Ian
Randall: He gives his loyalty to Ian, and finds him to be a good
leader. It's pretty close to devotion from Jedera, for Ian is a determined
scientist and Jedera learns much from him. They are as close to friends
as a Commander and subordinate can be, and Jedera is grateful for the chances
Ian has given him.
Matthew Daniels: He wishes Daniels would just take the time to REALLY listen to what he had to say. He likes him, but can sense a distance between them. Jondalar Barlok: They're the scholastic pair from the Regulars, and talk often. Jedera would have a great affection for Jondalar; they're more alike than unalike, and so would be great friends. Lisa Willbanks:
He is saddened by her lack of control; no matter how skilfully the others
manoeuvre her into her temper, he will learn to try and talk her out of
it the way he has seen K’Teira do. He knows she is intelligent and
good at her job, but feels for her because he can sympathize with being
an easy target. He might be amused by it at a basic level, but would
dislike that attitude in himself and would seek to correct it.
Chianeé Deserine: He likes her very much, but the pawings get on his nerves at times! Mind you, he just gets self-conscious and giggles uncomfortably. |
